Reflecting on my childhood, I fondly recall days spent by the pond, catching tadpoles and later watching them transform into frogs, only to return them to their watery home. This early fascination with amphibians has naturally transitioned into my gaming experiences, particularly in my latest adventure through the delightful world of Sword of the Sea.
In this captivating game, players can embark on a quest to collect various frogs scattered throughout the environment. However, finding these elusive creatures can be quite a challenge, as they are often hidden in less accessible locations that stray from the usual paths players would take. If you’re an adventurer at heart, fear not! With this detailed guide, you will soon be on your way to collecting these charming croakers.
Please note that the developers at Giant Squid have indicated that there will be changes to the frog locations in their upcoming final update. While no prior alerts were provided in the pre-release information, we expect that the frogs will remain in their current spots as we list them here. That said, there’s a possibility that some details might shift after the initial patch, and we will aim to keep this guide updated accordingly.
Frog #1
Location: The Veiled Sea
Your quest for the first frog will take you to the expansive area where you cleanse the sunken building and solve the dual-fountain puzzle. After successfully completing this, use the restored chain to climb the nearby cliff. Once at the top, search for a secluded area featuring a small pool of water.
From this location, direct your gaze toward the broken bridge that appears to lead nowhere. Below, you’ll discover a series of descending platforms. Make your way down to the third platform, where you’ll encounter the Desert Frog resting proudly upon its pedestal. While you’re at the bottom, don’t forget to glance to the left—there’s a hidden Shell on an even lower platform waiting to be discovered.
Frog #2
Location: The Lost Grotto
Continue your journey through the level until you reach the highest point on the map and activate the chain. With the Dolphin Statue in sight, turn to your left to spot a narrow rooftop walkway below.
It may seem like a dead end, but drop down and traverse the narrow path. Climbing the rocks at the walkway’s end leads you to a hidden area where your second frog awaits—the Bullfrog.
Frog #3
Location: Shadow Tundra
As you explore the level, continue until you reach the final expansive area, which requires you to activate three towers to unlock the exit door.
Once you arrive, veer to the left and navigate around the massive chasm in the center, gathering boosts along the way. When fully powered, race toward the exit and head down the hill on the right side. Here, you will find an opportunity to boost over a gap leading to a decrepit bridge platform where the Horned Frog resides.
Frog #4
Location: Sacred River
To find this frog, progress through the level until you successfully raise the ship and activate the chain that takes you to the higher levels.
After riding the chain for some elevation, glance to your right to spot a reachable platform below. Execute a well-timed jump and water rail maneuver to reach it. Once you land, head towards the boat precariously hanging over the cliff, where you’ll find your penultimate frog awaiting you.
Frog #5
Location: Boiling Cavern
The final frog is a unique challenge, as it embodies the ghostly remnants of a creature that couldn’t withstand the heat of this intense level.
To locate the spectral Skeleton Frog, navigate through the Boiling Cavern up to the area right before the skeletons’ spines room. Instead of progressing through the main door, head to the right. You’ll see a path leading to a boat above, where the remains of the once-adorable frog linger.
