Your initial task is simple: turn on the Power and activate Pack-a-Punch. Begin by purchasing doors leading to the Observatory Dome. Afterward, seek the Harmonic Component items located in The Luminarium and the Machina Astralis. Once you’ve gathered these items, return to the Observatory Dome and interact with the Harmonic Oculus (a piano) to initiate a lockdown. Upon successful completion, you will gain access to Pack-a-Punch and restore Power.

Step 2: Acquire the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon

the lgm-1 is claimed

Below is a concise outline of the steps you’ll need to follow to acquire the powerful LGM-1:

  • Secure the Damaged Drone by shooting a Drone that O. S.C. A.R.dispatches.
  • Collect 3 Absolute Zero Fragments by shooting Dark Aether Crystals around the map with a weapon equipped with the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod.
  • Obtain the Car Battery by shooting the gear stick of Ol’ Tessie located at the Site.
  • Retrieve Aberrant Wiring from a flickering lamp post around the map.
  • Take down O. S.C. A.R.using the Electro-Volt Projector Trap in The Luminarium by activating the trap and destroying his Drones to overload his battery.
  • Eliminate O. S.C. A.R.with the Rocket Ignition Trap within the Museum Infinitum, ensuring he stands directly behind the rocket thruster.
  • Use the Observatory Dome Trap on O. S.C. A.R.by shooting 5 burst gas pipes to activate a laser beam, aligning the telescope with the Sun by interacting with the piano.
  • Finally, after defeating O. S.C. A.R., he will drop the coveted LGM-1.

Step 3: Decipher Thurston’s Planetary Puzzle

None

After obtaining the LGM-1, it’s time to locate O. S.C. A.R.again. As a key Elite enemy on the map, follow him stealthily to hear audio logs from Doctor Thurston. Keeping subtitles on will help you focus on the three planets he mentions:

  • Mercury – 1
  • Venus – 2
  • Earth – 3
  • Mars – 4
  • Jupiter – 5
  • Saturn – 6
  • Uranus – 7
  • Neptune – 8

Translate the planets into their sequential numbers closer to the Sun to form a three-digit code. Next, head back to the Observatory Dome with Pack-a-Punch and interact with the code machine on the northwest pillar to unlock a platform that will allow you to collect the Cryo Chamber Key.

Step 4: Obtain Dr. Thurston’s Brain

None

Inside the Machina Astralis room lies a cryo pod containing Dr. Thurston. Use the Cryo Chamber Key for access. After revealing his corpse, you’ll need to procure a Rock Saw, located by smashing a display case in the southwest corner of the Museum Infinitum. Once you have the Rock Saw, head back to the cryo pod and interact with it to extract Dr. Thurston’s brain.

With the brain in hand, proceed to The Luminarium where a brain in a jar triggers a 60-second lockdown. Protect the Perfusion Machine from zombies during this period. After the lockdown, retrieve the brain and transport it back to Machina Astralis, where you’ll place it in a rusty machine by the west wall, connecting it to the network.

Step 5: Tackle the Books and Statues Puzzle

Upon connecting Dr. Thurston’s brain, return to the telescope adjacent to the Pack-a-Punch in the Observatory Dome. Align the telescope with Mars, noting the DEC numbers that appear on the screen. These numbers will be entered into a device in the upper section of the Machina Astralis.

As you engage the brain station in the Machina Astralis, five book titles will present themselves on a monitor. Memorize these titles, then venture into the Archive of Orbis. Engage with the bookshelves and the statue busts corresponding to the titles displayed. The walls will include multiple bookshelves and statues; ensure to quickly input the number of correct titles per wall to unlock a secret trapdoor revealing the Planet Neptune item.

Step 6: Align the Planets in Machina Astralis

Place the Planet Neptune in the empty planetarium slot within the Machina Astralis room, located up the stairs and facing the sun. Now, gather three pieces of paper showcasing planets and their directional cues:

  • Paper #1 – On a desk in the main Machina Astralis room, facing south.
  • Paper #2 – Amidst a pile of notes in the center of the Archive of Orbis.
  • Paper #3 – On a coffee table in The Luminarium facing northwest.

Once you have the directions, return to the Machina Astralis and shoot each planet according to its associated direction based on the positioning of the sun.

Step 7: Activate the Pylons and Retrieve the Ascendant Eye on Mars

Having arrived on Mars, collect the brain and position it at the altars located at the back of the map, near the portal leading back to Astra Malorum. Interacting with the brain will initiate a sound; swiftly head to the southeast wall where you will sight 4 pylons. They must be activated in the following order: back right, back left, front right, and front left. A successful hit will light the pylon blue.

Following this, shoot the orb hovering over the temple to spawn the Ascendant Eye bird. Maintain your shots to freeze the bird and jump during anti-gravity to capture it. Place the Ascendant Eye within a golden pillar found in the south corner.

Step 8: Determine the Symbol Sequence and Shoot the Mars Pillars in Order

With the Ascendant Eye positioned on its statue, return to Astra Malorum and access the Observatory Core. Interact with the device near the piano to reveal a series of 4 symbols in a unique sequence, one of which will remain unshown. Your focus should now shift back to Mars.

At the Mars location, five unique pillars will bear symbols. Utilize the LGM-1 to shoot at the pillars, activating them for the final step. Prepare your gear for an impending boss fight by ensuring that you have weapons, armor, equipment, and Perks ready.

Step 9: Harmonize the Pillars and Prepare to Face the Boss

Upon activating each pillar, interact with them in the order of symbols executed in the Observatory Dome. Quick execution is vital; any mistakes could mean failure. Each successfully activated pillar will glow blue. After aligning their signals, call forth the boss by interacting with the brain.

Step 10: Conquer Caltheris in the Boss Fight of Astra Malorum

The climactic battle against Caltheris unfolds in four challenging phases:

  • Phase One: Caltheris looms above as a massive floating skull. Avoid its lasers while defeating zombies to power generators. Engage with the brain to initiate a firing sequence, which must be completed three times.
  • Phase Two: Transition to Caltheris as a colossal rock monster, who will pursue you relentlessly. Focus on dodging while targeting its glowing blue weak spot.
  • Phase Three: Caltheris Ascendant increases the stakes further, throwing rocks at you—continue to aim for the weak point.
  • Phase Four: Caltheris the Needle materializes, wielding immense strength and creating damaging gas clouds. Maintain your distance and concentrate on breaking through its defenses.

Upon the boss’s defeat, a cutscene will signal your success, marking your completion of the Astra Malorum Easter egg! No need to linger post-Easter egg — you can now pursue Cursed Relics as the game acknowledges your achievement.
