However, despite the ease of the task, one of the main hurdles you’ll face is dealing with PMCs lying in wait on the mountains, shooting players aiming for sniper rifle kills.

To successfully complete The Hermit quest in Escape from Tarkov, you need to accomplish the following objectives:

Locate the hideout of Jaeger’s friend at Lighthouse.
Obtain the letter with Jaeger’s message from Lighthouse.
Deliver the letter to Jaeger.

Finding the Hideout and Navigation Tips

To find Jaeger’s ally’s hideout, head towards the village located on the eastern section of the map. It’s crucial to remain vigilant, as other players often lie prone on the mountains, targeting those headed to the water treatment facility.

If you spawn on the chalet side in Lighthouse, proceed to the water treatment plant. However, if you spawn near the facility, there’s no need to venture towards it. Once you determine your starting position, make your way to the island-like area featuring wooden structures close to the Path to Shoreline extraction point.

In the island-like section, search for a small wooden door resembling a bunder located near the main road of the village. Approach the door, and you will find the letter sitting directly beneath it. Interact with it to collect the letter.

After you’ve successfully secured the letter, your final task is to make it out alive. The safest routes for extraction involve heading to the Path to Shoreline for a quick getaway or using the Mountain Pass if equipped with Red Rebel and Paracord.
