Complete the Film Reels Puzzle Guide in Ashes of the Damned (BO7 Zombies)

As you prepare to confront the Ashes of the Damned boss in Black Ops 7 Zombies, your journey leads you to the mysterious shores of Blackwater Lake. Here, a crucial part of the challenge awaits: you’ll need to interact with a film projector and collect four distinct reels in a precise order. Failure to do so not only disrupts your progress but also surprises you with a startling jumpscare.

Activating the Projector and Completing the Reels Puzzle

Once you’ve successfully performed the rituals at Vandorn Farm, Exit 115, and Zarya Cosmodrome, you are set for the penultimate step of the Ashes of the Damned Easter egg. Begin by shooting the clock tower at Ashwood using the DG-2 Turret from Ol’ Tessie. Then, shoot the charged clock with the Necrofluid Gauntlet and proceed to reload to gain a purple energy infusion. Next, make your way to Blackwater Lake and interact with the blue wisp located near the dock close to the Mystery Box, facing the Pyramid.

With your Necrofluid Gauntlet charged with purple energy and the wisp activated, enter the Cabin and head into the theater room. Here, aim your Gauntlet at the projector, which will display four unique images. Memorize these images in the order they appear, as your goal is to seek out and shoot the film reels that correspond to these images in the correct sequence.

Locations of All Film Reels in Ashes of the Damned

After noting the sequence of images revealed in the projector room, begin your search for the film reels. Below, we outline each location along with the specific details on where to find the corresponding reel.

Reel #1 – Fishing Hut

The first reel is located in the Fishing Hut.To find it, look up into the rafters of the ceiling while facing west.

Reel #2 – Front of the Cabin

The second reel can be discovered at the front of the Cabin.Search upstairs, to the left of where you activated the power next to the gramophone. The reel is located on a shelf beside a lamp against the east wall.

Reel #3 – Back of the Cabin

Focus on the back of the Cabin for the next reel.You’ll find the reel underneath the stairs by jumping over the railing near the Ammo Box, while facing southeast.

Reel #4 – Toolshed

The Toolshed, situated to the left of the Cabin and close to the Pyramid, holds the final reel.Look on a shelf against the east wall, nestled between two wooden boxes on the third shelf from the bottom.

Be cautious: if you shoot the reels out of order, you’ll need to reconvene in the next round to retry this step.

Obtaining the Hellion Horn and Initiating the Boss Encounter

Upon correctly shooting all the reels, head upstairs to the bedroom where Speed Cola is available. Here, a new wisp will appear beside the bedside table; interacting with it will cause it to vanish. Summon Klaus for 2, 000 Essence at the dock in Blackwater Lake and direct him to engage with the locked box in the Speed Cola room. Once he retrieves the Hellion Horn death whistle, interacting with him will prompt the final step before facing the boss.

Following your interaction with Klaus, he will blow the Hellion Horn, which will trigger the appearance of three wisps in the Monolith Forest, spanning the area from Blackwater Lake to Janus Towers. To proceed, navigate Ol’ Tessie through this area to collide with all three wisps and repeat this process at the Collapsed Tower (from Janus Towers Plaza to Vandorn Farm), the Grounded Ship (from Vandorn Farm to Ashwood), and the Lost Cabins (from Ashwood to Blackwater Lake).Getting this sequence right teleports you into the boss room, while any mistakes require you to retry in the next round.
