Complete RT Shader 1.6 Delivers 3x Improved Performance

Exciting Updates for Complete RT ReShade Shader from NiceGuy

Graphics modding enthusiast NiceGuy has recently unveiled a major update to his acclaimed Complete RT ReShade shader, now reaching version 1.6. This latest iteration showcases significant enhancements, boasting performance improvements that can reach up to three times faster than its predecessor. In a demonstration video, it was revealed that running the Global Illumination mode at the native resolution (fully utilizing the slider at 100%) now requires merely 4 ms, compared to the 13.5 ms needed for version 1.5. As a result, gamers can expect much higher frame rates, with performance jumping from 49 FPS to an impressive 71 FPS, although results may fluctuate based on specific games and scenes.

Enhanced Upscaling and Performance Features

In addition to speed optimizations, the internal upscaler has also received a comprehensive upgrade. The Complete RT shader now incorporates the capability to dynamically adjust the Global Illumination resolution, utilizing floating-point scales that range from 33% to 100%. Notably, it can instantaneously align the rendering resolution with all the major industry upscalers, including NVIDIA’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR, Intel’s XeSS, and Epic’s Unreal Engine TSR. Users are likely to benefit from enhanced performance, minimized flickering throughout gaming sessions, and overall improved visual fidelity.

Improvements in ReSTIR GI and Reflections

NiceGuy has also refined the implementation of ReSTIR GI within the shader. He claims that both performance and image quality have seen substantial improvements, with accuracy now nearing the standard of a ground truth image. Furthermore, the shader features enhanced specular reflections, rectifying the flickering issue that previously occurred with low roughness values. Overall, the precision and performance of reflections have also been upgraded, resulting in a markedly more realistic gaming experience.

Introducing eLITE RT Shader

In an exciting development, NiceGuy has introduced a new shader named eLITE RT. This innovative shader emphasizes a lighter screen-space ray-traced Global Illumination approach, making it potentially compatible with lower-end or handheld devices. According to the modder, the creation of eLITE RT involved extensive research and development efforts, representing a shift in focus from Complete RT. While Complete RT prioritizes high-quality visuals without sacrificing performance, eLITE RT aims to enhance performance while delivering satisfactory quality.

Patreon Exclusivity and Subscription Tiers

Both shaders are accessible exclusively to subscribers on NiceGuy’s Patreon platform. Complete RT is available to those supporting at the second tier for $6 monthly. Meanwhile, eLITE RT is currently in beta and can be obtained by subscribers of the third tier for $11.50 monthly, as it requires further testing and community feedback. Once fully developed, eLITE RT is expected to transition to the same tier as Complete RT.
