At its release, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero features an impressive lineup of 181 playable characters, with additional downloadable content (DLC) already announced. This rich assortment positions it as potentially the most extensive game in the Dragon Ball franchise, a fitting development given the wealth of characters introduced through Dragon Ball Super‘s anime and manga.
While Goku and Vegeta undoubtedly dominate the roster, players will discover a myriad of alternatives to choose from, ensuring a diverse gaming experience. The game draws from various Dragon Ball series, inclusive of numerous movies, establishing Sparking Zero as an ideal entry point for newcomers, as well as a nostalgic revisit for long-time fans.
Updated January 19, 2025, by Tom Bowen: The initial DLC pack for Sparking Zero is set to launch shortly, boosting the total characters to an astounding 192. New additions include Gamma 1, Gamma 2, and Cell Max, alongside Gohan and Piccolo receiving four new forms each. Notable transformations such as Orange Piccolo and Gohan Beast are exciting for fans of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, raising questions about whether Gohan can rival Ultra Instinct Goku in battle.
