Complete Guide to Villari’s Prize in Dune Awakening

Complete Guide to Villari’s Prize in Dune Awakening

In the Lost Harvest DLC for Dune: Awakening, I have already taken significant steps to support the Spice Miner’s Guild. After responding to an emergency involving a downed harvester, I was involved in locating survivors, restoring communication systems, and providing essential medical supplies and weaponry.

With the situation stabilized on board the Mithra, I was reluctantly summoned by Kief Vallari, the Spice Warden, to track down a sealed metal case that went missing after the crash. This package is believed to be in the hands of the Kirab, although Vallari is not entirely certain.

In this comprehensive guide, we will focus on completing the Villari’s Prize contract. This mission involves planting listening devices at three separate Kirab dens to uncover the location of the stolen goods.

First, you’ll need to retrieve your spy equipment, cleverly concealed in an old iron works facility. However, be forewarned—the area is heavily populated by Kirab, with one of the highest concentrations in the Basin.

Fortunately, my Mentat character, Boris, is well-acquainted with the terrain, and I’ll be guiding you through the steps.

Retrieve Listening Devices

To begin, from the Mithra crash site, head east across the dunes towards the iron works building depicted above. This site contains the listening devices necessary for fulfilling Villari’s contract, though you’ll find the entrance secured by a pentashield, necessitating the acquisition of an ID band first.

Keep your navigation streamlined by tracking the Villari’s Prize contract and following the compass markers displayed at the top of your screen.

Finding the ID Band and Listening Devices

Ascend to the first level of the iron works and proceed to the western side of the structure to locate the identification band. You’ll then need to climb the staircase on the side of the building to reach the next level, where the pentashield is positioned.

The listening devices are hidden in a box adjacent to an ore refinery, as illustrated below.

Per Villari’s own words, this package houses a CHOAM ScryPoint Mark IX eavesdrop array, specifically fine-tuned for deep desert operations. In essence, Boris has officially stepped into the role of a secret agent.

Plant a Listening Device at The Squat

After securing the goods, make your way northeast to the Kirab Den known as The Squat. You’ll find pipes winding around the rock formation, guiding you to the location and providing an advantageous vantage point over your foes.

Boris, alongside his steadfast ally Liliha, took position atop the pipeline, methodically neutralizing enemies with precise sniper shots.

Search for the device, located in the center of The Squat structure, right next to one of the door frames.

One down, two to go.

Plant a Listening Device at Menol’s Folly

From The Squat, navigate northwest towards Menol’s Folly. Activate your shields and prepare your firearms; another Kirab welcoming committee awaits.

After dispatching the enemies, proceed to the left of the staircase on the first level and plant your device inside the room you discover there.

The final target is Dead Man’s Depot, so ready your vehicle and head northeast.

Plant a Listening Device at Dead Man’s Depot

Dead Man’s Depot (seen above) is known for its extremely high Kirab presence. Anticipating a fierce brawl, Boris landed closely behind Liliha, who was already engaged in combat. Without hesitation, I rushed in and managed to flatten a Kirab with my ornithopter.

After clearing a substantial wave of enemies, we moved inside to place the listening device. Various entry points are available, including a hole in the roof, and the location for deploying the device is just inside one of the visible doorways.

With all three listening devices now successfully positioned, Kief Villari suspects that his package is hidden somewhere within Imperial Testing Station #13, based on the intel garnered through our superior espionage efforts.

The groundwork is complete.Boris has infiltrated the Kirab network as a covert operative for the Spice Warden, and it is now time to hunt down and reclaim the stolen cargo.

Enter Imperial Testing Station #13

Upon concluding your tasks at Dead Man’s Depot, direct your course west/northwest towards Imperial Testing Station #13, located at the foot of a large rock formation seen in the images above.

Boris understands that the Kirab are entrenched within, and the intensity is about to escalate.

He pauses briefly at the entrance to gather his thoughts.

Once inside the testing station, make your way to the lowest level via the staircase as shown above. Expect an ambush from a group of Kirab on this level, so prepare to engage.

Two ID bands are essential to your progress in this section, beginning with the green ID band. This can be found on the east/southeast side of the basement, marked by an arrow in the accompanying picture.

This green ID band (illustrated below) will grant you access to a pentashield located at the opposite end of the basement from your point of entry, where you will find the purple ID band needed for further progress.

Equipped with the green ID band, head over to the north/northwest side of the main basement area, pass through the pentashield, and locate the purple ID band depicted below.

With all required credentials in hand, the purple ID band unlocks the pentashield at the top of the staircase from which you initially entered the basement. Thus, ascend back upstairs.

On the other side of the pentashield, you will enter a circular room depicted below.

Boris Has a Few Tricks Up His Sleeve

As we stepped into the room, the area erupted into chaotic gunfire from multiple angles.

Boris may be seasoned, but don’t underestimate his experience. Years spent adapting to the desert environment and his Mentat training have equipped him with exceptional strategic prowess.

Boris leaped onto the circular structure at the room’s center, deployed his turret, and swiftly retreated to safety. With Liliha covering close-quarters combat and his turret delivering suppressive fire from the high ground, the Kirab stood little chance.

Once the room has been cleared, search for a corpse in a small chamber (illustrated below) directly across from the pentashield entrance. This is the clue we’ve been hunting.

Interact with the body to complete the Villari’s Prize contract by contacting the issuer.

Despite an impressive display of spycraft, the slavers managed to intercept the package before us, but at least we have a solid lead on its intended destination.

This marks the beginning of the Digging Deeper quest chain.
