Beyond the standard gear that is typical of a robust RPG, the immersive transmog system enables players to customize the appearance of their equipment without sacrificing its functionality.

Players will be introduced to the transmog system quite early in the storyline. During the prologue, the main character Rook and their companions find themselves in the mystical realm known as the Fade. Here, they discover a sanctuary called the Lighthouse. Upon awakening within its walls, Rook is free to explore the surroundings.

While engaging in discussions with comrades, Rook will also encounter a chest nestled next to the sleeping Varric. This chest acts as the Wardrobe, an essential feature that holds various cosmetics collected throughout the journey. These cosmetics include visually appealing variations of armor, headgear, and more.

Within the Wardrobe, players have the ability to customize a range of equipment types:

  • Main-Hand Weapon
  • Off-Hand
  • Two-Handed Weapon
  • Helm
  • Armor
  • Casual Wear

As new cosmetic appearances are unlocked or acquired, players can return to the Wardrobe to update their gear’s aesthetic. This process will replace the default visuals with chosen skins. Additionally, players can find all cosmetics from pre-orders and the Deluxe Edition within this feature.

A helpful indicator on the left side of the Wardrobe screen displays both the number of cosmetics in the player’s possession and the total available in the game. This function proves invaluable for completionists who wish to track and discover every cosmetic skin.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is playable on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, offering an engaging experience with an array of customization options.
