Pokémon GO offers an engaging lineup of weekly events throughout each month, featuring fan-favorite activities such as Max Mondays, exciting Raid challenges, and the much-anticipated Spotlight Hour. This guide will specifically delve into the Spotlight Hour, a weekly event occurring every Tuesday, each time spotlighting a different Pokémon.
During the Spotlight Hour, players have the opportunity to earn valuable rewards and increase their chances of capturing a Shiny version of the featured Pokémon. Additionally, participants can benefit from transferring surplus Pokémon to earn bonus candies, making it easier to evolve the highlighted species in Pokémon GO.
Roselia Spotlight Hour Overview
This week’s Spotlight Hour is set for January 14th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It is highly recommended that players prepare by stocking up on essential items such as berries, Poké Balls, and incense to maximize their event experience. The feature Pokémon for this occasion is Roselia, and players will also enjoy an x2 Catch XP bonus, allowing for rapid XP gains during the hour.
Roselia is categorized as a Grass and Poison-type Pokémon, designated as #0315 from the Hoenn Generation 3 lineup. With a maximum Combat Power (CP) of 2114, it boasts 186 Attack and 131 Defense stats. Roselia evolves in a three-stage line, starting from Budew to Roselia (requiring 25 Candy) and then evolving into Roserade (needing 100 Candy and a Sinnoh Stone).
For each successful capture of Roselia, players will earn three candies along with 100 Stardust. This Pokémon is also eligible for trades and can be transferred to Pokémon Home.
With its dual typing, Roselia is particularly vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic-type attacks—sustaining 160% more damage from these types. Conversely, it experiences decreased damage from Electric, Fairy, Fighting, and Water-type attacks, taking only 63% of the standard damage. Grass-type attacks also deal reduced damage to Roselia at 39%.
When it comes to optimal performance in battles, Roselia excels with its top moveset featuring Poison Jab (a Poison-type attack) and Sludge Bomb (also a Poison-type attack), delivering an impressive 10.96 DPS (Damage Per Second) and 99.91 TDO (Total Damage Output). Fans should note that this Pokémon’s effectiveness can be further enhanced by Cloudy Weather conditions.
A special feature of this event is the availability of a Shiny version of Roselia. To boost your chances of encountering this rare variant, it is advisable to use incense during the event and carry berries in case a Shiny emerges. The Shiny Roselia stands out with its vibrant green hue, complemented by striking purple and black roses.
