As an RPG, Metaphor ReFantazio incorporates various traditional elements familiar to fans of the genre, both historical and contemporary. A common feature within RPGs is the impact of attacks or spells on party members, often resulting in effects that extend over a considerable duration. In this game, these effects are referred to as Status Ailments, categorized into two types: Mental and Physical.

Experiencing either of these ailments can significantly hinder a player’s ability to progress in the game. Fortunately, there are methods available to alleviate the afflictions for individual characters or even the entire team. Below, you will find a guide on how to counteract these ailments.

The game features a total of 13 distinct Status Ailments, comprised of six Physical Ailments and seven Mental Ailments, outlined as follows:

Treating Physical Ailments

All six Physical Ailments can be treated via the Patra skill, available within the Healer Archetype.

• Poison: Eliminated using the Robust Remedy item.
• Paralysis: Alleviated with the Vitamin Relaxant item.
• Malady: Cured by the Ailment Absolution item.
• Hex: Resolved using the Purified Teacake item.
• Burn: Treated with the Fermis Ointment item.
• Frostbite: Soothed by the Heartwarmer item.

Treating Mental Ailments

Out of the Mental Ailments, six can be cured using the Patra skill, except for Stun, which cannot be treated.

• Daze: Cured using the Sulphurous Salt item.
• Charm: Resolved with the Slapstick Fan item.
• Forget: Treated using the Notebook of Remembrance item.
• Sleep: Eliminated with the Thrilling Tintinnabulator item.
• Rage: Alleviated with the Tranquilliser item.
• Anxiety: Cured by the Soothing Sweetbun item.
• Stun: This ailment has no available cure. It specifically affects enemies and halts the character’s action for one turn.
