After achieving a flawless 100% completion in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you might think you’ve seen everything the game has to offer. However, there’s still a wealth of content waiting for you before you can truly say you’ve experienced it all.
While the memento items don’t affect your primary completion percentage, they play a crucial role in providing additional challenges that can enrich your gameplay experience. Completing these mementos is not only rewarding but also adds layers to the game’s narrative and mechanics!
Let’s explore the details of each memento and how to acquire them, ensuring you leave no stone unturned in the world of Silksong.
The Boss Hearts

At first glance, the quest for the Boss Hearts might seem straightforward, yet it houses some nuances. There are four available hearts: Conjoined, Hunter’s, Pollen, and Encrusted, though you will only be able to keep one. To progress to the Abyss and confront Lost Lace, you’ll need to collect three hearts. If you have traveled through Verdania and bested the Green Prince, remember that you can snag an extra heart as a backup in case any boss proves troublesome.
Choose wisely which heart to offer the Shamans, as the one you reserve will proudly display on your wall in Bellhome.
Hero’s Memento

The next memento encountered typically comes from your battle against Garmond. Embrace the challenge, as defeating him is crucial for progress.
First, visit the Wishboard in Bellhart to fulfill Zaza’s wishes. Jump on a bell beast to transport yourself to the Blasted Steps and take a moment to rest on a nearby bench. Head left into the subsequent chamber, and descend to the lower section, where a long corridor awaits you. Garmond lurks at the end, corrupted by the Void, and it’s your task to liberate him—albeit with considerable effort.
Familiarity with void creature tactics will aid you in this fight:
Attack Name | Description |
---|---|
Void Shot | Garmond unleashes bolts of darkness at a 90-degree angle. |
Plunging Attack | He leaps upwards, jabbing down while releasing void bubbles that spawn dark tendrils. |
Horizontal Thrust | Rapid jabs across the stage, striking three times in quick succession. |
Overhead Arc | An arc of his weapon that can catch players above him. |
This encounter is characterized by chaos; damage can accumulate rapidly. Prioritize dodging and utilize passive tools like cogflies or tacks for inflicting damage, or take single shots with your needle and retreat frequently.Proximity to Garmond invites severe punishment.
Once you defeat him, the Hero’s Memento will be awarded to you.
Craw Memento

Upon entering Act 3, after resting on a bench, you will encounter the Craw Summons nearby. Transport these summons to the house on Craw Lake, the same place where you first inflated balloons.
Inside, engage in a challenging arena fight rife with Craw enemies and the formidable Crawfather.
Initially dispose of some of the smaller enemies to focus on the Crawfather, noting that he will persistently summon minions during the melee.
Attack Name | Description |
---|---|
Beak Jabs | A series of three jabs made with his beak; staying elevated can aid in avoiding them. |
Dive Bomb | A high-arcing jump then a direct plunge toward you, easily dodged with quick reflexes. |
Shredding Chains | After hovering briefly, he unleashes chains that attach to walls, causing spikes to erupt. Watch for openings! |
This battle may seem chaotic due to the multitude of enemies present, but upon defeating the Crawfather, you will receive the Craw Memento along with a useful nest attachment that generates shards and rosaries over time.
Grey Memento

Your journey leads you next to the Watcher, located in the Sands of Karak, where defeating him grants you the Grey Memento.
To locate the Watcher, navigate to the Memory Locket area in the southwestern vine platforms. Utilize your Silk Soar ability to access a concealed area above.
In this zone, you will find a statue; play your Needolin to awaken it and prepare for a dynamic fight.
While this battle isn’t prohibitively difficult, his nimbleness may surprise you, featuring frequent short dashes and underground teleports. Staying at a medium distance while striking only one or two times at a time can be the key to success, as indiscriminate attacking may prompt counters.
Additionally, lure him towards the edge to make him fall into sandcarvers, which offers excellent free damage.
Attack Name | Description |
---|---|
Quick Slash | A direct slash aimed your way. |
Triple Slash | A barrage of three consecutive slashes covering a substantial distance. |
Uppercut | A sweeping upward strike that slams back down, frequently emerging unexpectedly from beneath you. |
Defeating the Watcher yields the next memento you seek.
Surface Memento

Acquiring the Surface Memento involves honing your movement skills rather than engaging in combat. Begin your journey at the location where you obtained the Pale Nail silk skill at the ruined Cradle’s apex. Ascend until you discover a small opening that leads to a significant vertical climb requiring your cat-like agility.
Utilize the clawline and faydown cloak to navigate enemies and ascend towards the surface of Pharloom. Upon reaching the pinnacle, head eastwards until you encounter the remnants of a structure. Play your Needolin here, and the memento will descend from above!
Hunter’s Memento

This memento demands you defeat every type of enemy in the game, completing Nuu’s Hunter Journal in the process. However, rest assured, you won’t miss any inaccessible enemies, as the game tracks your progress admirably.
If you find enemies in Verdania inaccessible, the journal will not penalize you for these, nor will it count certain missable bosses, such as Shakra.
Sprintmaster’s Memento

For the next two mementos, you must have given the Shamans the three hearts and completed the Red Memory quest. If you’ve been thorough in collecting all Mask Shards and finished the Sprintmaster’s races, you’re ready for this challenge.
Regrettably, it feels repetitive, as you must repeat the third race, but increase the laps from 3 to 6, amplifying the difficulty. Use your clawline wisely and contact the Sprintmaster for added boosts, drawing upon your prior racing experiences to guide your efforts.
Guardian’s Memento

This final memento is perhaps the most challenging. To obtain it, you must confront Seth right before the Nyleth fight. Instead of vanquishing him, however, he will wander the world of Pharloom, having lost his memories. Throughout your journey, you can find him in several locations:
- Greymoor, the spot where Shakra sold you your initial map
- Shellwood, where the pogo-flower challenge leads to the purple pollip
- In front of the Grand Gate, right before the scale-platform room
Finally, after completing the Ecstasty of the End quest and acquiring your Pale Oil, Seth makes his way to Fleatopia, where he participates in the flea games, striving to beat high scores. The scores you need to surpass are:
- Flea Juggle: 55
- Flea Dodge: 95
- Flea Bounce: 68
Achieving these scores may consume a fair amount of time and patience. Once you’ve beaten all scores in each category, Seth will reward you with the final memento.
Return to Bellhart and proudly display your collection of mementos on your wall, and you can finally declare your adventure in Hollow Knight: Silksong complete!
