Complete Guide to Black Ops 6 “Ground Control” Mission: Walkthrough and Rewards

“Ground Control” marks the eighth installment in the Black Ops 6 series. In the preceding mission, your team executed a vital heist operation. After discovering that the funds from the casino were being channeled into Pantheon’s research, the mission focused not on theft, but on securing the B24 safe deposit box. This box contained critical financial records pointing to the location of Pantheon’s chief scientist, Matvey Gusev.

In this mission, your main aim is to capture Gusev and extract crucial information regarding Pantheon’s bioweapon initiatives through interrogation.

Walkthrough for Mission 8 of Black Ops 6 (Ground Control)

Your first task in this mission is to rendezvous with Lawrence Sims, a returning character and a long-time ally of Adler. He will aid your journey to Kuwait Airport. As you arrive at the assigned spot, you will assume the role of William “Case”Calderon.

While the Ground Control mission itself is relatively direct, it introduces a host of formidable and tough adversaries.

Your loadout for this mission includes:

Primary Weapon: LW3A1 Frostline sniper rifle
Secondary Weapon: C9 SMG
Equipment: Two flash grenades and two frag grenades

Below is a detailed outline of the mission objectives.

Access the airport terminal

Upon arriving and walking beneath the collapsed bridge, you will catch sight of the airport. However, you must exercise caution while attempting to reach the entrance due to the presence of numerous enemies.

Utilize your sniper rifle while taking cover behind the damaged vehicles scattered around. You will encounter several enemies on the upper level, including snipers and mortar operators. Prioritize eliminating these threats to minimize incoming fire.

After neutralizing the mortars, proceed along the right side path, where a small structure will provide cover as you advance. Carefully navigate toward the entrance labeled Terminal 1.

Locate Gusev’s aircraft

Once inside the airport, your next task is to find Gusev’s aircraft. Expect heavy resistance as you move through the main hall. Stick to the left side where you can find sufficient cover while taking out enemies as you approach the metal gate.

When the gate opens, watch out for enemies deploying smoke to conceal their movements. Quickly seek cover while engaging them at distance, as an armored foe carrying a shotgun will emerge from the haze. Avoid close encounters and take him down from a distance.

After clearing out the enemies, navigate through the Passport Control area to find an escalator. Proceed thoughtfully upstairs since the upper level is protected by armored opponents. Use your sniper rifle to efficiently eliminate them from afar.

Be cautious of enemies equipped with rocket launchers, targeting them as quickly as possible. As you continue, enter the shops on the right to take cover and clear out any remaining threats.

Afterwards, you’ll find another staircase. Ascend and follow the path until you arrive at a door that leads you to the Boarding Gates area.

Board Gusev’s aircraft

This section is heavily guarded with armored enemies. Utilize cover strategically and move with caution, deploying grenades or flashbangs to break enemy formations. Instead of rushing through the center, navigate along the left side.

At Gate 14, you’ll face enemies using poisonous gas grenades, so keep your distance. A juggernaut will also appear; aim for his head and fire multiple shots to quickly take him down. Once you have eliminated all threats, proceed through Gate 14 to board the aircraft.

Secure the aircraft

Inside the plane, you’ll encounter fierce resistance, including foes deploying explosive RC-XD devices that will detonate on contact. Quickly eliminate these threats before they can get close. After overcoming the juggernaut, pick up his minigun for a significant firepower advantage to clear out the remaining enemies.

However, upon securing the plane, you’ll find out it’s merely a decoy and not Gusev’s actual jet. The true aircraft awaits at the opposite side of the airport in Terminal 3.

Your new goal is to intercept Gusev before he manages to escape.

Cross the tarmac

You will now need to navigate the tarmac to pursue Gusev. Expect numerous enemies in the area, so advance with caution while utilizing cover to protect yourself.

Take control of an Iraqi tank

As you progress, you will encounter a tank. Eliminate the surrounding enemies and take command of the vehicle. Utilize its missiles to clear through enemy positions as you advance down the road.

Eventually, you’ll notice an entrance marked with a red blinking light. Move inside and head toward the military plane where Gusev is attempting to escape. Use the tank’s missiles to destroy the aircraft and thwart his exit.

You are now set to interrogate Gusev, and he will disclose everything he knows. Following this, Sims will take him into custody, successfully concluding the mission.

Upon mission completion, you will unlock the “The Cradle” Weapon Charm.
