Upon entering the world of Atomfall, players are immediately drawn to the search for a crucial item: the Atomic Battery. These artifacts are scattered throughout the game, often held by characters unaware of their significance. To navigate the complexities of the Interchange and secure your escape from this post-apocalyptic landscape, collecting a total of five Atomic Batteries is essential.
However, the good news is that the game features more than five of these batteries, giving you various options to acquire them. Below is a detailed guide on all the Atomic Battery locations in Atomfall.
Comprehensive Guide to Atomic Battery Locations
As you journey through Atomfall, your primary goal will be to secure at least five Atomic Batteries necessary for restoring power to the Interchange. This task is made easier by the abundance of batteries available, ensuring you can still progress even if you accidentally eliminate key non-player characters (NPCs).
1. Atomic Battery #1
The first Atomic Battery is located on a corpse in the Central Processor of the Interchange. Simply interact with the battery slot directly in front of the corpse to retrieve it. This initial task is straightforward, but the subsequent batteries will require a bit more exploration.
2. Atomic Battery #2
Your second Atomic Battery can be obtained from Molly, found at the Trader’s Camp in Slatten Dale. She offers an Atomic Battery for trade from her inventory.

Molly favors alcohol, rifle ammunition, and Molotov cocktails, so it’s wise to stash any extras for trading. During my playthrough on casual mode, I successfully exchanged two Molotov cocktails, some Painkillers, and a Poison Bomb for the Atomic Battery. Players on the Challenging difficulty may need to gather more valuable items for the trade.
3. Atomic Battery #3
The third Atomic Battery is earned by completing Vicar McHenry’s quest located within St. Katherine’s Church in Wyndham Village, a site marred by a recent murder.

After resolving the murder case and dealing with the culprit, you’ll receive a key to his chest, which contains the Atomic Battery. Look for the chest situated upstairs in the church.
4. Atomic Battery #4
In Skethermoor, find another Atomic Battery for trade with Nora, who is tucked away in her barn at Thorndike Farm.

While Nora’s specific trading preferences remain unclear, I’ve found that exchanging ingredients from your inventory works. I had to trade various items, including a Molotov, Tea, and other materials, to acquire the Atomic Battery. If you prefer to hold onto your items, no worries—there are still more batteries to discover!
5. Atomic Battery #5
The fifth Atomic Battery can be located in the Druid’s Camp within Casterfell Woods. There are two entrances to the Druid’s Castle Ruins; opt for the entrance marked by white doors with blue torches to access the battery.

Once inside, navigate to the area where the High Priestess is chanting. You can eliminate her to claim the Atomic Battery located to her left, alongside other useful items related to quests.
6. Atomic Battery #6
According to a note found at the Data Store Delta in the Interchange, an additional Atomic Battery was taken to Skethermoor’s Vehicle Depot. Upon entering, be cautious of the Outlaws.

After dealing with the Outlaws, look for the dormitory area to find the Vehicle Bunker Storeroom Key, which opens the metal double doors in the back corner. Inside the secured area, you’ll find an Atomic Battery along with some radiaiton hazards.
7. Atomic Battery #7
Another Atomic Battery is mentioned in a note about Spare Batteries at the Dam, indicating you should venture into Casterfell Woods and head north towards the Casterfell Dam.

This battery is found inside the Dam’s Control Room located on the eastern side. You’ll need to pull the Substation Override Lever to deactivate the right-most button on the control panel, allowing entry into the substation. There, you will find the remains of a fallen individual along with the Atomic Battery in their backpack.
Additional Atomic Batteries
Moreover, you can extract more Atomic Batteries from large robots patrolling the map. Attack one and, as it begins to overheat, approach its back and press ‘E’ to extract its battery—effectively disabling the robot and adding to your collection of Atomic Batteries.
Be cautious, as these bots typically have companions, including Protocol Soldiers, who will retaliate if attacked.
Endgame Atomic Batteries
As you reach the endgame phase of Atomfall, you’ll encounter two additional Atomic Batteries during your interaction with Oberon, after placing five batteries around the Interchange.
These batteries are required to power the Sample Extractor, facilitating the retrieval of an Oberon sample for Joyce Tanner. However, you can opt to skip these if you’re not pursuing Joyce’s quest line.
