The highly anticipated drama series Beauty in Black is gearing up for its premiere on Netflix. This project, crafted by renowned filmmaker Tyler Perry, who is widely recognized for his successful Madea franchise, features him in roles as creator, director, and executive producer. Beauty in Black is part of Perry’s exclusive multi-year first-look agreement with Netflix established in October 2023.
Set against the backdrop of Atlanta, Beauty in Black explores the worlds of a prosperous hair care business family and the famed strip club, Magic City. The narrative predominantly focuses on two women, Kimmie and Mallory, portrayed by Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart, respectively.

As a former beauty queen, Stewart earned the titles of Miss Texas and Miss USA in 2008 and reached the top 10 in the Miss Universe competition. Her acting credits include House of Payne, Too Close to Home, and Acrimony.
3) Ricco Ross as Horace
Ricco Ross portrays Horace, the patriarch of a powerful hair care dynasty who also owns the Magic City strip club, becoming involved with Kimmie and her companions.
He is best known for his role as Private Frost in the acclaimed film Aliens and began his career in the soap opera The Young and the Restless, later appearing in productions like Mission Impossible and Gulliver’s Travels.
4) Debbi Morgan as Olivia
In her role as Olivia, Debbi Morgan appears to have deep ties to Horace’s business empire, though specific details regarding her character remain under wraps. A trailer hints at her knowledge of the family’s dangerous legacy.
