The new Australian neo-western drama series, Territory, is set to debut on Netflix on October 24, 2024. Created by Timothy Lee and Ben Davies, this captivating show revolves around the turmoil faced by the Lawson family as they navigate a fierce succession battle over Marianne Station, the largest cattle station in the world.
As the Lawson family grapples with power struggles and generational conflicts, various factions including cattle barons, gangsters, Indigenous elders, and mining moguls vie for control of the station. The series stars Anna Torv in the role of Emily Lawson, alongside Michael Dorman as Graham Lawson, Robert Taylor as Colin Lawson, Sam Corlett as Marshall Lawson, among others.
Filmed in the rugged landscapes of the Northern Territory, including Kakadu National Park and Tipperary Station, Territory boasts one of the most extensive productions ever undertaken by Netflix in South Australia. The show is directed by Greg McLean and is a collaborative effort by Easy Tiger Productions and Ronde Production.

1) Anna Torv as Emily Lawson

Torv is well-known for her performances in science fiction series like Fringe, where she played FBI agent Olivia Dunham, and has also appeared in acclaimed works such as Mindhunter and The Last of Us.
2) Michael Dorman as Graham Lawson
Michael Dorman takes on the role of Graham Lawson, who emerges as a prime contender in the struggle for control over the vast cattle station. The trailer hints at his pivotal involvement in this intense family conflict.
Originally from New Zealand, Dorman has been a fixture in the Australian entertainment scene for over two decades, with notable projects including For All Mankind, Patriot, and The Invisible Man.
3) Robert Taylor as Colin Lawson
Robert Taylor portrays Colin Lawson, the patriarch of the family, who must contend with multifaceted challenges to maintain their stake in the cattle station. The series’ trailer suggests a noteworthy tension between Colin and the area’s Indigenous population.
Before entering the world of acting, Taylor worked on an oil rig and later graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He gained fame starting with the soap opera Home and Away in 1989, and has since collaborated on projects like Coffin Rock, The Matrix, The Hard Word, and Longmire.
4) Sam Corlett as Marshall Lawson
Sam Corlett steps into the role of Marshall Lawson, the spirited young member of the family whose life dramatically changes following the untimely death of his uncle, Daniel Lawson, thrusting him into the land dispute.
Prior to his casting in Territory, Corlett gained recognition for his portrayal of Leif ‘Greenlander’ Erikson in the acclaimed historical drama Vikings: Valhalla, and played the Prince of Hell in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
5) Sara Wiseman as Sandra Kirby
Sara Wiseman portrays Sandra Kirby, an outsider with vested interests in Marianne Station. As a businesswoman aspiring for success, her character is pivotal to the unfolding drama.
Hailing from New Zealand, Wiseman boasts an impressive career spanning around thirty years in theatre, film, and television. She gained early recognition with roles in series like Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Jackson’s Wharf, as well as films such as The Insatiable Moon, Love Birds, Nerve, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
