Colorful has recently unveiled two budget-friendly gaming laptops that integrate the latest RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 graphics processing units (GPUs).
Introducing the Colorful EVOL P15 Gaming Laptops: Core i7 14650HX & Core i5 13420H
In a strategic move to cater to budget-conscious gamers and professionals, Colorful has introduced its latest offering: the EVOL P15 gaming laptops. These devices feature configurations that include NVIDIA’s cost-effective RTX 50 series GPUs paired with powerful Intel CPUs, effectively bridging affordability and high performance.
The EVOL P15 range represents the company’s first foray into the RTX 50 series within their gaming laptop lineup. Historically, Colorful has primarily offered models equipped with RTX 3050 and RTX 4060, making the introduction of the RTX 5060 model a significant development. This laptop now stands as the most potent option from Colorful, boasting the Intel Core i7 14650HX processor, known for its high-performance capabilities derived from the Raptor Lake Refresh series.
With a formidable CPU-GPU combination, the EVOL P15 aims to deliver exceptional performance in gaming and demanding CPU-intensive applications. The configuration supports 16 cores and 24 threads, ensuring robust multitasking capabilities. Additionally, the model equipped with the RTX 5050 features the more budget-friendly Core i5 13420H processor, providing a balanced solution for both gaming enthusiasts and productivity tasks.
While both models share a similar aesthetic, the EVOL P15 with the RTX 5060 distinguishes itself with superior display specifications. It features a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, in contrast to the RTX 5050 model, which has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Furthermore, the RTX 5060 variant offers an impressive refresh rate of 165Hz, surpassing the 144Hz limit of its counterpart.
Both laptops are equipped with a 53.35Wh battery and are compatible with high-capacity power adapters for enhanced performance. In terms of storage, each model includes a 512GB NVMe Gen 3.0 SSD with an extra M.2 slot for expansion. Users will also benefit from 16GB of DDR5 5200 MT/s RAM, along with an additional SO-DIMM slot for potential upgrades.
Although Colorful has not yet disclosed pricing details, it is anticipated that both models will remain below the $1000 mark, in line with the current market trend for RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 laptops offering competitive capabilities at an affordable price.
