Colorful continues to offer budget-friendly gaming solutions by utilizing older components, exemplified by its recently unveiled EVOL X15 XS 2025 model.
Affordable Gaming: The New EVOL X15 XS 2025 with Alder Lake CPU and RTX 3050 GPU
While several laptop manufacturers have transitioned to cutting-edge hardware, Colorful takes a different approach by incorporating previous generation technology. The company has released a new gaming laptop designed to provide commendable gaming performance while remaining cost-effective.
The EVOL X15 XS 2025 features an Intel Core i5 12500H processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card. Although this configuration is not exclusive to Colorful, the latest iteration comes with enhancements over its predecessor. This model is equipped with a powerful 12-core CPU capable of clock speeds reaching 4.5 GHz, utilizing a hybrid core setup to efficiently manage workloads across both performance and efficiency cores.
When it comes to gaming and graphics-intensive applications, the RTX 3050 delivers adequate performance. Although it is not the most powerful GPU on the market, it can easily handle gaming at 1080p resolution with medium settings smoothly. The laptop is fitted with a standard 15.6-inch display, offering a 1080p resolution and supporting refresh rates of up to 144Hz.
Specifications include a default configuration of 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 64 GB. For storage, the device is equipped with a 512GB NVMe SSD and an additional M.2 slot available for expanding storage needs. In terms of connectivity, the EVOL X15 XS 2025 is well-equipped with multiple ports, including USB 3.2, USB 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro SD card reader, a LAN port, mini DP 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and a microphone jack.
The entire package is housed in a sleek dark gray chassis that features an LED-backlit keyboard, measuring 2.2 cm in thickness and weighing approximately 2.1 KG. This weight is slightly higher than its predecessor, the X15 XS 22, which weighed in at 1.9 KG. While both models share similarities, the new edition boasts a refreshed exterior design and updated packaging.
Priced at just $699, the Colorful X15 XS 2025 is set to hit retailers shortly, providing gamers with an excellent entry-level option.
