Reflecting on Colin From Accounts Season 1
A Cute Dog Unites Two Strangers
The series kicks off with Ashley, recently heartbroken and inebriated, flashing Gordon, who runs a local brewery and is driving home. This fateful encounter leads to an accident where Gordon injures a dog, damaging its spine and leaving it in need of wheels to move around. Feeling guilt over the incident, both Ashley and Gordon come together to care for the injured canine, aptly named Colin.
Due to complications with her landlord, who isn’t fond of pets, Ashley moves in with Gordon to assist in caring for Colin. Their new living arrangement brings unexpected challenges as Ashley’s toxic mother Lynelle gets involved, and Ash’s party-loving friend Megan develops a crush on Gordon’s business partner, Chiara.
As they navigate these personal dynamics, Ashley and Gordon begin to form a deeper connection, almost crossing a romantic line. However, Gordon’s reluctance to move forward is influenced by a previous medical issue related to potential testicular cancer, which he fails to disclose to Ashley, leading her to believe he does not want a relationship.
Eventful Parties Impact Their Relationship
Episodes 6 and 7 revolve around two memorable parties that create turmoil for the couple. The sixth episode, titled The Good Room, involves Ashley’s birthday celebration at her mother’s house, where Lynelle repeatedly embarrasses her and even brings up Ashley’s deceased friend, Alejandro. This triggers painful memories for Ashley, who wrestles with guilt over not being able to save Alejandro during a critical moment. Gordon provides support and confronts Lynelle, strengthening their bond.
However, the following episode, Bandit, sees Gordon throwing a birthday party for Ashley at his brewery, where her rowdy friends create chaos, causing Gordon to snap and eject everyone from the party, leading to a heated breakup between the couple.
What Happened at the End of Colin From Accounts Season 1?
In the heart-wrenching season finale of Colin From Accounts, Ashley discovers a poster seeking Colin’s original owner. She and Gordon take Colin back to his previous owner, but to their dismay, the owner declines to reclaim him, realizing the dog requires special care that he can’t provide.
Desperate to find Colin a safe haven, they contemplate different shelters but are disheartened by the poor conditions at the options available. Ultimately, they decide to give Colin to Phoebe, a neighbor of Brett’s. While they attempt to adjust to life without Colin and each other, they gradually acknowledge their love for both the dog and one another.
The season concludes with Ashley and Gordon reconciling and choosing to bring Colin back into their lives permanently, setting the stage for Season 2, where they will once again live together and work towards reuniting with their beloved dog.
