Colin Cowherd predicts Rams rolling the dice for Bo Nix in 2024 NFL Draft – “Could totally see that happening”
Bo Nix is considered to be a solid quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft, ranking in the upper-mid-tier. While he may not have the same level of talent as Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, he is highly regarded and has a wealth of experience in high-pressure games. His exceptional accuracy is also evident, as he holds the record for the highest completion rate in NCAA history at 77.4%.
Despite typically being a good fit for a rebuilding team, such as the Las Vegas Raiders, Colin Cowherd has a surprise prediction for the Los Angeles Rams, a team currently in contention. During his eponymous show on Sunday, the experienced sports media personality shared:
“The Rams are sleeper for a lot of people. They’re one of those teams that has been very successful without first round picks. This is their first first rounder in a long time, and they’re at 19. I can see the Rams going and saying we’re gonna take Bo Nix and he’s gonna sit for two years. I could totally see that happening…
He went on to elaborate:
“I think the Rams would roll the dice on Bo Nix because the Stetson Bennett didn’t work. Stafford feels like he’s hurt at least once or twice a year. That one’s interesting.”
Predicting Bo Nix’s Future in the NFL Draft
Draft analysts hold differing opinions on Nix’s potential landing spot in the draft. While some believe he is a guaranteed pick in the middle of the first round, others suggest he may not be selected until the later rounds.
The Denver Broncos, in dire need of a quarterback after parting ways with Russell Wilson, are a likely destination for him to land. Currently, they only have Ben DiNucci and Jarrett Stidham on their roster.
However, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine believes that these projections are unlikely and predicts that the former Auburn Tiger and Oregon Duck will have to wait until Day 2 due to a negative trait that was overshadowed by certain circumstances.
‘Nix’s decision-making at Auburn was a concern. He cleaned up a lot of that at Oregon and only threw three picks in his final season, but a lot of that was due to an offense that thrived on screens and RPOs.’
The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 25 to 27.
