Cody Rhodes’ family member is preparing to retaliate against The Rock at WWE WrestleMania 40, says Teil Rhodes

Teil Rhodes, sister of Cody Rhodes, recently disclosed her mother’s response to The Rock’s insult towards her on WWE RAW.

Recently, The American Nightmare made a promise during an in-ring interview with Michael Cole on RAW that he would win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and present it to his mother. Since then, The Rock has been mocking his words by stating that the only belt Mama Rhodes would receive at WrestleMania would be his weight belt soaked in her son’s blood.

On the previous Monday’s episode of the Red Brand, Cody was viciously assaulted by The Final Boss in the backstage area and then dragged out into the parking lot, resulting in a severe cut on his face. As a final insult, The Final Boss smeared Cody’s blood onto a weight belt that read “Mama Rhodes,”taunting him with the idea of his mother receiving the belt.

During a recent interview on the Busted Open podcast, Teil Rhodes shared her mother’s response to The Rock’s insults. She revealed that her mother would attend WrestleMania armed and ready to defend herself.

“Shelly is an old school wrestler’s wife. So, she gets it but she doesn’t love, you know what I mean? She’s up on Tuesday morning and her phone is just blowing up with all these like people, you know, that she hasn’t heard from in, you know, 25 years, you know, ‘The Rock is talking about you on TV.’ And she’s mad. She said she was gonna bring her bear spray to ‘Mania, yeah. So, she’s gonna come prepared I think,”she said. [10:21 – 10:56]

Cody Rhodes to Compete in Two Matches at WrestleMania XL

Following his victory in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, Cody Rhodes has set his sights on challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of night two at WrestleMania XL.

Also, at this year’s Show of Shows, The American Nightmare will be featured in the main event on night one alongside World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. The two will join forces to take on The Tribal Chief and his cousin, The Rock, in an epic tag team match.

Rhodes was unsuccessful in his attempt to defeat The Bloodline’s leader at last year’s Showcase of the Immortals. It will be intriguing to see if he can put an end to Reigns’ noteworthy championship reign on April 7th.
