Starting the Woven With Malice Quest

Scholar NPC Location in Where Winds Meet

Begin by heading to the location marked on your map. You will encounter a lonely Scholar seated near a large bell. This area is situated just north of Buddha Fort, beyond a forest and adjacent to a cliff, making it easy to find.

Engage with the Scholar to trigger the quest. However, players must note that they need to wait a full day in-game before the Scholar is willing to provide insight. Utilize the Clock Feature to fast forward to the next day.

Once ready, your next task involves visiting a nearby house to locate a Seamstress. Unfortunately, you’ll find only her apprentice, Little Needle. To gain her assistance, you must first collect Blue, Red, and Black Pigments found on a table and near a brazier inside the house.

After delivering the Pigments to Little Needle, return to the Scholar to witness an alarming event. Position yourself near the designated point to eavesdrop on the conversation. Tragically, the Scholar will meet their end, but players should collect a Mysterious Handkerchief left behind. According to the Scholar’s last words, your next destination is to seek out Monk Tranquillus. Little Needle will continue to follow your lead for the time being.

Travel south of Buddha Fort to find Monk Tranquillus. When you arrive, he will already be conversing with Little Needle. Engage him in a sparring match; you’ll need to prove your strength to gain his cooperation. Expect a second sparring session shortly after your initial engagement.

Afterward, converse with Little Needle once more, and use a fire arrow to clear the brambles obstructing a cave entrance. This reveals the location to set a trap for your attacker. Wait patiently for the mysterious figure to appear, then follow her to uncover a shocking truth: it was all an elaborate setup.

Return to Monk Tranquillus, where you’ll discover there were actually two assailants: a woman and a man. After receiving additional clues, consult with Little Needle again, as it’s now time to track down the other intended victim.

As you progress further into the Woven With Malice quest line, be sure to have Celestial Seize equipped in your Mystic Arts action bar.

Head south toward the location where your adventure began, and converse with Little Needle again. Your next interaction will be with the Mysterious Pavilion Owner. Listen carefully to his tale, then create a private moment to discuss her suspicions about him.

Investigating the Pavilion Owner

Engage in the following investigations to get to the bottom of things:

Maintain a safe distance while following the Pavilion Owner. After he discusses a letter, use Celestial Seize to grab it.
Investigate the surrounding ruins and use Mighty Drop (Jump + Q) to uncover a basement laden with explosives.
Explore the rock wall behind the Silkworm Lady’s tomb to find a hidden trap.
Position yourself near the bamboo grove and eavesdrop on a conversation between two ambush conspirators.

What you discover confirms suspicions: the entire scenario was a trap for the two mysterious attackers. Return to Little Needle to warn her of the Pavilion Master’s intentions, only to find she has been incapacitated with Sleeping Gas—this fate now besets you as well.

Once the cutscene concludes, quickly press Q or Spacebar to alert the mysterious attackers about the incoming danger. In a twist of fate, they will assist in overcoming the Pavilion Master and his thugs, who plan to eliminate you and abduct Little Needle.

As it turns out, these two were once servants of the Silkworm Lady, used by the Pavilion Owner as test subjects for the Celestial Silk Garment. Known as Fitting Kids, they were intentionally blinded, forced to evade attacks to showcase the defensive strength of the garment. With vengeance served, they will say their goodbyes, and after having one last conversation with Little Needle about the aftermath of this ordeal, the Woven With Malice quest will conclude.
