In the world of Hytale, acquiring Goldenwood is essential for enhancing the Farmer’s Workbench to its maximum level—Tier 8. This particular wood type can only be sourced from specific trees scattered throughout the game, prompting players to embark on quests to locate them.
For aspiring farmers aiming to perfect their craft, leveling up the Farmer’s Workbench is crucial. Unlocking the best recipes in the game hinges on achieving the final upgrades, making Goldenwood a valuable resource.
How to Acquire Goldenwood Logs in Hytale

There are two key types of logs that qualify as Goldenwood in Hytale: Sallow Logs and Palm Tree Logs. Sallow Logs are harvested by chopping down Sallow trees, while Palm Tree Logs are exclusive finds in certain chests throughout the game.
Sallow Logs

Sallow trees are unique with their striking yellow leaves and are predominantly located in the Devastated Lands’ Cinder Wastes biome (Zone 4). To spot them, seek out a dark yellow area amidst the black islands on the map. The light-yellow treetops indicate the presence of Sallow trees, which, when chopped with a hatchet, provide Sallow Logs suitable for upgrading the Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 8.
Remember, Hytale features randomized world generation, meaning that a Cinder Wastes biome may not be present in every instance of the Devastated Lands. Players may need to explore multiple zones to locate this key area.
Palm Tree Logs

Palm Tree Logs, on the other hand, can only be obtained from chests within the Howling Sands (Zone 2). The most fruitful locations to discover these chests include enemy strongholds, underground mineshafts, and various locations inhabited by hostile creatures.
When venturing into these high-risk areas, it’s wise to come equipped with healing potions to withstand potential threats. Interestingly, wild Palm Trees do not yield Palm Tree Logs when chopped down; instead, they produce sticks. This phenomenon raises questions about whether it is a glitch or a designed feature. As of now, chests remain the sole source for acquiring Palm Tree Logs.
