The latest update to Pokemon Legends: Z-A, titled the Mega Dimension DLC, significantly enhances the base game experience by introducing a host of new challenges and opportunities for players. This expansion brings back 20 Mythical and Legendary Pokemon, many of which have received potent new Mega Evolutions. As a result, the DLC features some of the most formidable Pokemon in the franchise, allowing players to diversify their teams with powerful new options.
Among the five most powerful Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, three can be found in the Mega Dimension DLC. Notably, one of these creatures shares the highest stat total with Mewtwo, presenting a competitive edge for trainers aiming to build the ultimate team. However, acquiring some of these legendary Pokemon may not be straightforward, adding an exciting challenge to the game.
10. Baxcalibur
Mega Baxcalibur’s Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Baxcalibur
Baxcalibur can be located within 5★ Hyperspace Wild Zones or obtained by evolving Arctibax at level 54. To unlock Mega Evolution for Baxcalibur, trainers will require a Baxcalibrite orb, set to be distributed in Season 4 of the ranked battles.
9. Heatran
Mega Heatran’s Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Heatran
To acquire Heatran, players should complete Hyperspace Mission 9 (Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No.5).For Mega Evolution, trainers will need the Heatranite orb, also provided through this mission.
8. Darkrai
Mega Darkrai’s Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Darkrai
Darkrai can be captured by completing Hyperspace Mission 11 (Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No.6).Players will also receive the Darkrainite orb required for its Mega Evolution through this mission.
7. Latias
Mega Latias’ Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Latias
To capture Latias, players must initiate a Special Scan after concluding the Mega Dimension storyline. The Latiasite orb needed for Mega Evolution can be obtained by finishing Side Mission 189 (Siblings of the Sky).
6. Latios
Mega Latios’ Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Latios
Latios can also be acquired by starting a Special Scan after the Mega Dimension storyline. To Mega Evolve Latios, players need the Latiosite orb, obtainable through the same Side Mission 189 (Siblings of the Sky).
5. Magearna
Mega Magearna’s Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Magearna
Magearna is available through Side Mission 195 (Restarting Magearna).The necessary orb for its Mega Evolution, Magearnite, is also given upon mission completion.
4. Zeraora
Mega Zeraora’s Base Stat Total: 700
How to Obtain Zeraora
Zeraora can be obtained by completing EX Mission 3 (Raging Lightning), which requires creating a Plazma-Glazed Donut. Players will also receive the Zeraorite orb necessary for its Mega Evolution through this mission.
3. Kyogre
Primal Kyogre’s Base Stat Total: 770
How to Obtain Kyogre
Kyogre can be acquired through Hyperspace Mission 14 (A Sapphire-Blue Legend), which is triggered by crafting an Alpha Old-Fashioned Donut. To enable its Primal form transformation, players will need a blue orb, also provided in Hyperspace Mission 14.
2. Groudon
Primal Groudon’s Base Stat Total: 770
How to Obtain Groudon
Groudon can be captured during Hyperspace Mission 13 (A Ruby-Red Legend), which also requires players to create an Omega Old-Fashioned Donut. To evolve Groudon into its Primal form, a red orb will be necessary, provided upon mission completion.
1. Rayquaza
Mega Rayquaza’s Base Stat Total: 780
How to Obtain Rayquaza
Rayquaza can be encountered by completing Hyperspace Mission 12 (The Greatest Gift), which is activated by creating a Delta Old-Fashioned Donut. Notably, unlike the other Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Rayquaza does not require a Mega Stone for its Mega Evolution.
