The boy band THE BOYZ has publicly contested claims made by their agency, One Hundred Label, regarding the completion of settlement payments. This dispute arises amidst ongoing legal battles related to their contracts and serious accusations against executives at the agency.
Rebuttal to Agency’s Claim on Payments
On April 22, 2026, a legal representative from law firm Yulchon issued a formal statement refuting the agency’s claims that all financial settlements were concluded. THE BOYZ’s legal counsel asserted that, at the time of One Hundred Label’s announcement and currently, no payments have been received for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. Furthermore, they highlighted other outstanding sums that the agency stated had been settled.
The lawyer emphasized that during negotiations and court procedures, One Hundred Label has consistently altered and delayed payment schedules without fulfilling the financial commitments it made. According to Allkpop, the agency’s actions create an impression of an ongoing effort to manipulate public perception, prompting THE BOYZ to consider pursuing both civil and criminal actions if these claims persist.
This payment-related contention is part of a broader legal struggle that commenced in February 2026 when nine members of THE BOYZ, excluding member New, sought a provisional injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with One Hundred Label.
The group’s legal team argues that since July 2025, the agency has failed to provide legitimate compensation based on the members’ participation in group activities, marking the last payment for the second quarter of that year. Additionally, THE BOYZ has accused the agency of declining repeated requests for essential accounting records and contracts. Yulchon categorized this refusal as a significant breach of contract, resulting in a “breakdown of trust”that reportedly cannot be mended, as indicated by Korea Times.
Agency’s Counterclaims and Ongoing Allegations
In response, One Hundred Label has rejected THE BOYZ’s attempts to terminate their contracts and maintains its position that all financial responsibilities have been met. The agency asserts that any delays were temporary and that it is either compliant with or ready to settle all remaining payments, including accrued interest.
Furthermore, the agency has dismissed the allegations of embezzlement against CEO Cha Ga-won, characterizing them as unfounded accusations after THE BOYZ lodged a formal complaint under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes in Korea.
As discussions progress in the Seoul Central District Court, the legal team representing THE BOYZ is urging the court to expedite their injunction request. This would enable the members to engage in activities under more stable conditions while the primary disputes over financial matters and management are being resolved, as highlighted by Koreaboo.
