According to information shared by the game’s official subreddit, the studio’s founders—Guillaume Broche, Tom Guillermin, and François Meurisse—along with their 25-member development team, were recently appointed as Knights of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres).This prestigious award is conferred by the French Department of Culture and is considered France’s highest cultural accolade. They join the ranks of other esteemed game developers, including Shigeru Miyamoto, the mind behind Mario, and Eiji Aonuma, the producer of the Zelda series, both of whom have previously received this honor in 2006 and 2023, respectively.

During the award ceremony, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati lauded the achievements of Sandfall Interactive, specifically highlighting their work on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
