Quanta Computer, which is the main manufacturer of the budget MacBook, has faced production delays amid rising component costs.
To meet Apple’s projection of selling up to 8 million units within the first year, Foxconn is set to assist in manufacturing to enhance production capacity.
Apple is confronting notable margin pressures primarily due to increased memory costs. Recent reports indicate that the company is acquiring 12GB LPDDR5X chips from Samsung DS at nearly double the previous price.
Additionally, with the rising costs of cobalt, battery production expenses are also surging.
