Microsoft Copilot Unveils New ‘Reminders’ Feature
Microsoft Copilot is currently in the process of implementing a new feature known as ‘Reminders, ’ which is being made accessible on mobile devices and has limited support for web platforms. Notably, users who have not subscribed to the $20-per-month Copilot service can still utilize this feature free of charge, although premium users of Microsoft 365 Personal can access enhanced functionalities regarding reminders.
The trend among generative AI applications is to evolve into multifunctional tools, leading to the integration of features like Reminders in platforms such as ChatGPT and Copilot. This concept has merit, and there are several practical applications that users may find beneficial.

Practical Use Cases for Reminders
For instance, if you instruct Copilot to remind you to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription in five minutes, it will deliver a notification to your connected mobile device. Additionally, you can set reminders for critical meetings, as Copilot is programmed to recognize your device’s time settings, allowing it to issue alerts within a minute.
It’s important to note that notifications will not appear if you have revoked permissions for Copilot on Android or iOS devices.

Cross-Device Functionality
Microsoft confirmed to Windows Latest that the Reminders feature is functional across multiple devices, although alerts are exclusively sent to mobile devices for now. There is currently no information available regarding the potential inclusion of Reminders within the Windows 11 Copilot version.
“To receive them, the Copilot app needs to be installed, and notifications turned on, ” Microsoft explained in a statement to Windows Latest.
Customizable Reminder Options
Users can create both one-time and recurring reminders, enabling them to request Copilot to consistently remind them, for example, to review their presentation each Monday before meetings. Microsoft pointed out that content can be tailored for each reminder—”Teach me a new Spanish word every day, ” as an example.
For free accounts, there is a limit of five reminders, while those with a Microsoft 365 subscription can set up to twenty reminders.
Managing reminders is straightforward: simply open Copilot on your mobile device, navigate to Settings, and you can easily add or delete reminders as necessary.

Additional Enhancements for Copilot
Alongside the introduction of Reminders, Microsoft is also implementing various minor enhancements to Copilot. Users can now pin conversations in the sidebar for quick access, as well as share conversations instantly through a new ‘send a copy’ feature and generate conversation summaries.

Furthermore, Microsoft has rolled out a new “Study & Learn mode, ” which facilitates the creation of custom quizzes, provides engaging learning through the Mico feature, allows flashcard creation, and offers assistance with understanding uploaded notes.
Lastly, Copilot.com has expanded its capacity for free users to support over 10, 240 characters, and many text inputs can now be automatically uploaded as a file.
