I was running out of class and flung my backpack around my shoulder to grab something out of it without realizing I had forgotten to zip it up before leaving class. When I flung the backpack around my body, my laptop literally flew out of the backpack about 13 feet forward down the staircase, landed smack dab on the edge of one of the steps, then proceeded to tumble down the rest of the 25-ish step staircase.

I had the laptop stored in a soft sleeve, pretty much just to protect it from small scratches while in my backpack, the sleeve actually tore where it made initial contact with the step. After seeing the damage already done to the sleeve, I was mentally preparing myself to pull out a completely obliterated laptop that I had just dropped 2k on no more than 3 weeks ago. When I finally mustered up the courage to pull it out, I could not believe my eyes.

Flying down a whole stairset with incredible forward momentum, and the only damage was some scratches to the casing?? The impact was so great that it actually tweaked the screen to the left from the base about a mm, but still no screen damage whatsoever. I’ll still pay the deductible for the apple+ repair because the marks and slightly crooked case bug me, but that build quality is just insane!
