Upcoming Intel Xe3P GPUs and Future Releases: A Commitment to Innovation
The trajectory of Intel’s GPU roadmap is indicative of its growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced personal computing. Recently, the company revealed the Xe3 architecture, which delivers exceptional graphics performance within its Panther Lake “Core Ultra Series 3″System on Chips (SoCs).The next phase, known as Xe3P, is set to launch later this year.

This year marks the debut of the Xe3P architecture, a pivotal addition to Intel’s graphics offerings, specifically targeting both client and data center markets. The new GPUs are anticipated to enhance performance significantly across various applications.

Reports indicate that the Xe3P architecture will be leveraged in two distinct products. Firstly, the Crescent Island AI inference solution will introduce cost-effective GPUs utilizing LPDDR memory. Secondly, the Nova Lake “Core Ultra Series 4, ”aimed at desktop users, is expected to launch later this year. This lineup will feature Xe3P in a compact integrated GPU format while maximizing its capabilities in upcoming laptops, replacing the existing Panther Lake chips.

Intel’s advancements with Xe3 have outperformed previous generation GPUs as well as competing architectures like AMD’s RDNA 3.5 for mainstream platforms. With the introduction of Xe3P, expectations are high for Intel to maintain its lead against AMD’s next-gen Medusa chips featuring RDNA 5 technology.
Looking ahead, Intel has confirmed a strategic shift toward a consistent GPU release cycle. Following the Xe3P, the company will introduce Xe Next (previously Xe4), which will target both next-gen inference-optimized products and the advanced Shores lineup. Notably, the Jaguar Shores will utilize this new architecture to enhance its AI and high-performance computing capabilities. While the inference line will employ LPDDR-type DRAM, premium Shores products are expected to incorporate emerging high-bandwidth memory (HBM) technologies.

Intel assures that Xe Next will extend beyond AI applications to include significant updates on the client side. The new Next Arc family, poised to replace the existing Arc B-Series and likely branded as Arc C-Series (Celestial), is projected to feature both integrated and discrete GPU solutions.
Despite circulating rumors about Intel’s GPU division winding down, the company remains firmly committed to advancing its graphics technologies. The division is strategically positioned to deliver innovative solutions for future data center and client needs. Moreover, Intel is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop RTX-class GPUs, indicating a robust and dynamic approach to graphics development in forthcoming products.
