Guide to Catching and Evolving Sandygast in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension

Sandygast, a unique addition to Pokémon Legends Z-A through the Mega Dimension DLC, presents players with an exciting challenge to discover and capture this elusive creature. This guide outlines essential information, including tips on where to find Sandygast, its evolution process, optimal movesets, nature recommendations, and statistical data.

Sandygast resembles a sand mound with a shovel protruding, making it one of the more whimsical Pokémon that players can encounter. This Ghost/Ground-type Pokémon tends to inhabit sandy areas such as beaches and playgrounds. In Pokémon Legends Z-A, players can easily acquire Sandygast by participating in the side mission titled ‘Terror in the Sands’.

To initiate this quest, travel to Wild Zone 8 after completing the Hyperspace Survey mission Nº2 for Corbeau. Upon entering Wild Zone 8, you will meet a Quasartico Inc.employee who will inform you about peculiar happenings affecting local Pokémon in the area.

Once you accept the mission and venture into the Wild Zone, a cutscene will trigger, showcasing several Sandygast emerging from the sand to confront you. Defeating these creatures will allow you to utilize the Catch Window to successfully capture one or more Sandygast.

Upon completing the mission, players will be rewarded with the Scorching Sands TM, a potent Ground-type move that has the added benefit of potentially inflicting a burn on opponents.

Sandygast and its Evolution

With Sandygast captured, the next step is to train and evolve it into Palossand. This evolution can be achieved by leveling Sandygast up to level 42. Both Sandygast and Palossand possess the Ghost/Ground typing, rendering them vulnerable to Water, Grass, Ghost, Ice, and Dark-type moves. However, their dual-typing provides invaluable immunities to Fighting, Normal, and Electric-type attacks, making them strategic choices in various battles.

While Palossand has a relatively low Base Stat Total (BST) of 480, identifying the right nature is crucial for maximizing its potential. Opting for a Modest nature coupled with an EV spread of 252 HP, 252 Special Attack, and 4 Speed will greatly enhance its performance in combat situations.

Palossand can learn key moves such as Shadow Ball and Earth Power, forming the core of its offensive strategy. Additionally, with the introduction of the new TM vendor, players can include Scorching Sands or Ancient Power in Palossand’s moveset to complement its fighting style and mitigate its lower stats.

By leveraging these insights and strategies, players can successfully navigate the challenges of capturing and evolving Sandygast, making it a valuable asset to their Pokémon team.
