Although the market for these GPUs initially stabilized a few months after their launch, recent surges in demand—especially driven by advancements in artificial intelligence—have propelled their prices upwards once again.
As we approach 2026, many consumers remain hesitant to make purchases at inflated prices, while others are taking a proactive approach. Modern GPUs, utilizing either GDDR6 or the latest GDDR7 VRAM, are particularly vulnerable to these supply issues. Manufacturers are compelled to adjust their output based on VRAM capacity and market demand. In a recent report, TechSpot analyzed GPU pricing trends across ten countries, comparing data from November 2025 to February 2026. This study revealed how the ongoing DRAM crisis has affected GPU costs, with significant price fluctuations noted in various global markets. For mid-range and budget GPUs, models such as the NVIDIA RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 have witnessed moderate price increases ranging from 8.7% to 13.6%, depending on the specific variant.
Meanwhile, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB VRAM has seen an impressive price escalation of 21.5%. This trend highlights the financial pressure exerted on higher VRAM models, a subject we previously discussed. NVIDIA appears to be focusing on premium models with superior VRAM as a strategy for maximizing profits, contributing to the notable price hikes of the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 in the past quarter.
