Transitioning from one music streaming platform to another can be a daunting task, especially when it comes to your cherished playlists. Fortunately, the innovative integration of Spotify with TuneMyMusic simplifies this process, allowing you to seamlessly import your playlists without the hassle of recreating them from scratch.
Understanding TuneMyMusic
TuneMyMusic is a reputable online tool that facilitates the migration of music tracks and playlists across various streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, TIDAL, and YouTube Music. Instead of developing individual import tools for each platform, Spotify has enhanced user convenience by collaborating with TuneMyMusic to provide a streamlined integration directly within the app.
Previously, users could transfer a maximum of 500 songs for free, but thanks to this partnership, all Spotify users can now enjoy unlimited transfers, making it ideal for anyone with extensive music collections scattered across multiple services.
Supported Services for Importing
As it stands, the TuneMyMusic functionality within Spotify allows users to import playlists from 18 different music services. Additionally, you can bring in tracks by entering song titles or artist names, uploading a playlist file, or using a direct URL. Although the TuneMyMusic website offers even more options, they are not yet part of the Spotify integration.

Here are some of the services you can import from:
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
- YouTube
- Deezer
- TIDAL
- Amazon Music
- SoundCloud
- Pandora
- Qobuz
- Beatport
- Beatsource
- iTunes
- Napster
- Anghami
- KKBOX
- last.fm
- SoundMachine
- Boomplay
Additionally, users can combine playlists from multiple platforms—so whether your music is scattered across Apple Music, Amazon Music, or YouTube Music, you can easily import them all into Spotify.
It’s important to note that importing playlists will not delete them from their original service; this process merely creates a copy on Spotify.
How to Import Playlists into Spotify
Currently, the Spotify TuneMyMusic integration is available exclusively on the mobile app, with plans for expansion to desktop and web versions in the future.
To begin, ensure your Spotify app is updated to the latest version. Open the app, navigate to Your Library, and scroll down to the end of the list. If your list is extensive, use the arrows on the right to scroll more quickly.
Select Import your music and log in to the account from which you wish to import your content, allowing TuneMyMusic the necessary access.
Next, tap Get Started and select the service you are importing from—let’s say you want to import a playlist from YouTube Music.

You’ll see all available playlists checked by default. Deselect any specific songs you wish to omit by expanding the playlist. Once you’ve made your selections, tap Transfer to Spotify.
Confirm your action by tapping Agree. Keep the transfer window open until you receive the Transfer Complete! message. At that point, you can tap Open Your Library in Spotify to view your new playlists.

If you don’t spot the imported playlists right away in Your Library, try restarting the app. Some users have experienced temporary glitches where duplicate listings appear after an initial import.
Don’t forget to share your new playlists with friends once your transfer is complete!
Customizing Spotify with TuneMyMusic
For new Spotify users, importing playlists is a fantastic way to kickstart your experience on the platform. As you begin to listen to your imported playlists, Spotify will refine its recommendations, enhancing your music discovery experience.
Within a couple of days, you’ll notice improved suggestions for songs, artists, and additional playlists tailored to your preferences.
If you imported playlists that you prefer not to influence your “taste profile, ” simply open the playlist, select the three-dot menu above the song list, and choose Exclude playlist from your taste profile.

This option is particularly useful for playlists that don’t align with your usual listening habits; for instance, if you enjoy a lofi playlist solely for studying but wish to avoid lofi suggestions on your regular playlists.
Considerations When Importing Playlists
While Spotify boasts an extensive music library, it does not encompass every song or artist. Some tracks may be unique to specific platforms. If your imported playlists contain items that Spotify lacks, those entries will not transfer successfully—they will either be omitted or grayed out.
Moreover, the import feature only offers unlimited song and playlist transfers without the additional benefits of TuneMyMusic Premium. Changes made to playlists on one platform will not sync automatically to Spotify.
If your imported playlists contain duplicates, consider utilizing features designed to help quickly eliminate redundancy.
Revoking Access for TuneMyMusic
To revoke TuneMyMusic’s access to the streaming services you used for importing, the process varies by platform. Generally, navigate to your music service’s account settings, locate privacy controls, and identify connected apps.
Find the TuneMyMusic entry and revoke its access to ensure it no longer retains your account information or playlists.
For those considering a switch away from Spotify, you can explore options to transition your Spotify playlists to Apple Music or YouTube Music for a seamless experience.
