This new chip is engineered to execute on-device models featuring up to 2 billion parameters, showcasing a Time To First Token (TTFT) of merely 200 milliseconds. It efficiently processes an impressive 10 tokens each second, thereby enhancing the responsiveness and functionality of smart wearables.
Snapdragon Elite Wear Chip Architecture
Utilizing TSMC’s advanced 3nm chip fabrication process, the Snapdragon Elite Wear boasts a refined CPU configuration:
- 1 large core operating at 2.1GHz
- 4 smaller efficiency cores running at 1.9GHz
It’s worth noting that Qualcomm indicated these cores are not derived from their custom Oryon architecture, suggesting that they represent generic ARM CPU cores. Furthermore, the integration of Qualcomm’s Hexagon NPU allows for the execution of billion-parameter models directly at the edge.

Performance Enhancements and Connectivity Innovations
According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon Elite Wear chip delivers up to a 5x increase in single-core performance compared to the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 wearable platform. Additionally, the GPU performance boasts up to a 7x improvement in frames per second (FPS), making the chip a powerhouse for high-quality display and interactive functionality.
The chip also features a comprehensive suite of connectivity technologies, ensuring seamless interactions and data transfer:
- 5G RedCap (reduced capability)
- Micro-power Wi-Fi
- NB-NTN for satellite communication
- Bluetooth 6.0
- Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)
- Ultra-Wideband (UWB)
Enhanced Battery Life and Charging Capabilities
In terms of power management, this new chipset utilizes a silicon-carbon battery, yielding an impressive 30 percent increase in battery longevity compared to its predecessors. Users will also benefit from rapid charging capabilities, achieving a 50 percent battery charge in just 10 minutes.
As Qualcomm continues to innovate in the wearable technology space, the Snapdragon Elite Wear chip exemplifies the shift towards personal AI, redefining what consumers can expect from their devices.
