In contrast, DDR3 and DDR4 RAM modules, identified by their orange indicators, have experienced a month-over-month increase of 4.6% in February. However, SO-DIMM memory for laptops has been the standout category, witnessing a dramatic price increase of 23.4% since last month, bringing its price growth to an alarming 369% since July 2025.
The sharp increase in laptop RAM prices is predominantly driven by the 4 GB DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM, which alone has surged by 193% this month. Additionally, the 8 GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM has also seen a considerable price jump of nearly 49% recently. The outlook for laptop memory seems challenging, with further price rises likely, which could have adverse consequences for the laptop market overall.
