The recent update in The Forge has introduced an exciting new secret cave, but this is far more than merely a gimmick. Players can now uncover a late-game pickaxe, engage in new quests, discover rare ores, and battle a variety of intriguing mobs. If you’ve been itching to get your hands on the new pickaxe, be aware that you need to complete an entire questline to unlock this coveted tool. In this comprehensive guide, we will provide you with a step-by-step approach to finishing The Forge Cult quest and acquiring the necessary hearts to obtain the Dragon Head pickaxe.
Guide to Completing The Forge Cult Quest
The Cult quest is initiated on The Forge’s Island 3, but before you can set off on this adventure, there are specific prerequisites to fulfill. First, you need access to a portal tool, which you can find by completing the tasks assigned by Sensei Moro. Additionally, your character must reach at least level 70 to access the Frostspire Expanse island.
Once you’ve met these requirements and arrived at the island, your first task is to engage with Raven’s quests. Successfully completing these will reward you with the Red Cave key, which unlocks the Raven cave within The Forge. Upon entering, navigate to the glowing red orb crystal situated at the cave’s end. Move to the right through the foliage to discover a hidden chamber featuring another Raven NPC, the Dragon Head pickaxe, and three cult NPCs positioned behind it.
Keep in mind that the pickaxe will display a lock symbol upon entering this area. To obtain it, you must successfully complete all three Cult quests, which are detailed below:
1. Acquire the Prismatic Heart for Auron Cult NPC
Begin your journey with Auron, located at the rightmost position among the cult NPCs. Interact with him by pressing the ‘E‘ key, and he will request a Prismatic Heart. Thankfully, this item is relatively easy to acquire. Travel to the Spider Cave on Frostspire Expanse island, dispatch a few spiders, and you’re likely to retrieve the Prismatic Heart.
However, keep in mind that the Prismatic Heart is classified as a legendary item, with only a 1 in 33, 333 chance of dropping. Once you’ve successfully obtained it, return to Auron to complete that quest.
2. Secure the Yeti Heart for Mjelatkhan Cult NPC
Upon completing Auron’s quest, Mjelatkhan will become your next focus. This central cult NPC requests a Yeti Heart, which poses a more significant challenge than the previous task. Yetis boast over 10, 000 HP, making them tougher adversaries than spiders. Ensure you are equipped with decent armor and a strong weapon before taking them on.
You can find Yetis at the Peak Cave on the same island—don’t forget to use the cannon to reach them. The chance of obtaining the Yeti Heart is a challenging 1 in 44, 444. After securing the heart, make your way back to Mjelatkhan and hand over the item.
3. Retrieve the Golem Heart for Morveth Cult NPC
Your final task involves Morveth, positioned on the left side of the cultists. He demands a Golem Heart, which is exclusively dropped by the Ice Golem Boss present in Frostspire Expanse. This formidable boss can be found at the Summit’s Edge, just behind the rune door.
Prepare yourself for a significant battle, as this boss has a staggering 15, 000 HP, with the Golem Heart dropping at a low rate of 1 in 55, 555. Patience and perseverance are key, as earning this heart can be quite time-consuming. After defeating the Ice Golem and acquiring the heart, return to the Raven cave to deliver it to Morveth.
