In the recently unveiled Destiny 2: Renegades, players find themselves amidst a fierce conflict at a Praxic Temple besieged by Bael’s Dredgen and the Imperium forces. As a member of a fireteam, your mission is to dismantle their hold on power. The Equilibrium Dungeon, while entertaining, can be a labyrinthine experience for newcomers, often leading to confusion and frustration.
This comprehensive guide will walk you through each encounter in Destiny 2’s Equilibrium Dungeon, highlighting essential mechanics and strategies for success. We’ll also detail the jumping puzzles to ensure you traverse the dungeon efficiently, aiming for quick completions with minimal deaths.
The Opening of the Equilibrium Encounter

Begin your journey in the Equilibrium Dungeon by entering through the Lawless Frontier located in The Portal on Venus. After landing, navigate through the Temple Grounds, defeating lingering Cabal enemies. As you proceed, drop down near the waterfall to seamlessly continue along a predefined path leading to the Praxic Temple, where a rally banner and the first encounter await.
Encounter #1: The Harvester

To commence this encounter, engage with the Harvester ship situated just outside the Praxic Temple. The encounter revolves around two primary objectives: building up Gathering Shadows to attain the Shadow Novice buff for breaking Nameless Apprentice shields and defeating the Behemoths that materialize following the Nameless Apprentices’ defeat.
First, activate one of the antennas surrounding the area to earn the Gathering Shadows buff. Once activated, you’ll spot a battery that you need to destroy using an explosion triggered by a Nameless Apprentice. Position yourself nearby to coax them into detonating near the battery.
When the shields come down, you’ll have access to a Sparrow that is faster and armed. Strategically collect Gathering Shadows from the light pools on the ground until you fill up your meter. This grants you the Shadow Novice buff for 45 seconds, with chances to refresh it by collecting more light pools.

Utilize the Shadow Novice ability to switch between your grenade and the newly acquired Shadow Power. Use this Shadow Power on a Nameless Apprentice while they are readying an explosion, which will allow you to break their shield. After defeating these enemies, six Behemoths will appear. Your objective is to eliminate all six, concluding the first encounter. Finally, interact with the Harvester ship to proceed.
Traversal Puzzle #1

Board the Harvester to find yourself inside a vast Imperium ship. Begin by looking upwards and ascending through platforms until you locate a vent that can be shot open. Continuing along the linear pathway, you’ll encounter a locked door which can be opened by targeting three blue batteries situated near it.
As the ship initiates its NLS drive, transition to the next platform by jumping from the far left side, since the speed will propel you rightward. Once landed, eliminate the blue fuse within the room.
A secret chest awaits in the central room; access it by ascending the platforms and crouching into a crawl space. After this, destroy another blue fuse to unlock the door ahead, leading you to a vent that opens the way to the second encounter, your first boss battle.
Encounter #2: Dredgen Disciple Harrow

Upon activating a rally banner, you’ll find a blue fuse on a locked door. Shoot it open to reveal a trap door that drops you into a one-on-one encounter with Harrow, who wields dual Praxic Blades and possesses a shield. Avoid confronting him directly and proceed to the adjacent doors that open when the Cabal forces attack.
Within these rooms, your goal is to defeat Psion Lackeys to gain the Gathering Shadow buff. Among them is a Centurion Lackey that will also contribute to this buff accumulation. Reach the Shadow Apprentice status by gathering enough buffs. Following this, access three peripheral rooms—each containing three taken-imbued batteries on the walls.

Utilize the Shadow Power to target and shoot the batteries, causing their panels to close. Verify completion by checking for three green lights above the door. Once all rooms have been secured, the notification “Emergency subsystems active” will indicate your ability to re-enter Harrow’s arena.
In this arena, lower Harrow’s shields by shooting the blue fuses on the walls, which will reveal a hatch. Lure Harrow into this hatch to deplete a significant chunk of his shield. Repeat this process twice, then harness the Shadow Apprentice buff to activate large blue generators surrounding the room, which can be used to inflict damage on Harrow during the final phase.

If these steps are executed correctly, Harrow will transition into his final health phase, retreating through the ship. Follow him closely, but be cautious of turrets and remaining Cabal enemies. If you’re unable to defeat him in this section, you can shoot blue fuses to drop a hatch when he regenerates shields. Upon his defeat, claim your loot from the chest that spawns!
Traversal Puzzle #2

After Harrow’s defeat, proceed to the room’s center to activate a lever, opening a bay door that allows you to step onto a platform. Once in position, you will exit lightspeed and can jump onto the approaching ship to your left. Follow the corridor leftward to activate two red lights, permitting you to enter the ship.
From here, navigate through to the vent space until you reach the expansive shipping hangar. Clear this area of Cabal and Behemoth foes and interact with the console to activate moving platforms. The pathway forward is located in the center hatch overhead.

Continue onward until you reach a tank; drop down from its elevated platform to access four vents, only one of which leads to the next area while the others are dead ends.
In this final section, gather more Gathering Shadows. Ascend the room’s platforms to utilize the Shadow Power grenade on another taken-imbued panel, unlocking the hatch in a red pipe leading to the ultimate encounter.
Encounter #3: Dredgen Sere

Dredgen Sere serves as the final boss of the Equilibrium Dungeon. To initiate the encounter, approach him carefully, ideally from a distance to avoid his detrimental attacks.
Sere will target players with a warning indicated by the message “Face your death!”resulting in a barrage of lightning strikes. You can thwart these lightning attacks by shooting his hands to momentarily stun him.

Your strategy for Dredgen Sere involves defeating Centurions to amass Gathering Shadow buffs and thereby transform into a Shadow Master. Use the Shadow Power grenade to disable the shields of Nameless Apprentices, resulting in their elimination. There are five of these to contend with. Each elimination will cause a Taken orb on the central slab to lose its immunity. Destroying these orbs buys you extra time before the “Lure of the Dark”buff takes effect, transporting you to the Ascendant Realm.
In the Ascendant Realm, hunt down and destroy five Blistered Shadow enemies scattered throughout the arena. You can also use the Shadow Master ability to compel these opponents. After successfully dispatching the first four, the fifth will emerge on the top structure, accessible only after the earlier enemies have been defeated.

With all Taken orbs obliterated in both realms, prepare for the damage phase against Dredgen Sere. Be wary of the lightning strikes summoned by Sere, which can be mitigated by shooting the control panels with Shadow Power. Conclusively, if executed effectively, you will bring Sere down and be rewarded with a final chest of loot.
