Activating a Scout Bot in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
To bring a Scout Bot to life, you must first obtain the Thunder Shot weapon upgrade, which becomes accessible during your third trip to Volt Forge, post-acquisition of the Psychic Grapple from defeating the Flare Pool’s final boss.
With the Thunder Shot at your disposal, approach each Scout Bot and fire a single shot from your electric shock beam to power it up. Subsequently, utilize the Psychic Visor to scan the bot, which fully activates it. This activation triggers a brief cutscene showcasing the Scout Bot as it scans its respective level.
After scanning, the Scout Bot will collapse and go silent. At this point, your map will indicate a small orange cross, denoting the positions of any undiscovered items such as Missile and Shot expansions, along with Energy Tanks.
