Suga of BTS Makes Headlines with Family’s Real Estate Investment

Recently, it has come to light that Suga, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has family ties to a luxurious property in the prestigious Hannam-Dong neighborhood of Seoul, valued at an impressive ₩17.3 billion KRW (approximately $11.8 million USD).

Acquisition and Development of the Property

Records indicate that Nageum Co., Ltd., a company led by Suga’s mother, Hanna Geum, purchased the building in December 2022 for ₩10.8 billion KRW (around $7.37 million USD), as reported by FN News.

After acquisition, the previous structure was demolished, paving the way for plans to erect a new building. The construction process commenced in 2023 and has been completed, resulting in a modern facility featuring six above-ground floors and two subterranean levels.

Strategic Location and Investment Insight

Nestled in proximity to Hannam District 3, which is currently experiencing significant redevelopment, the investment is viewed as a strategic move. Analysts in the real estate sector suggest that Suga’s family is poised to benefit from the expected growth and revitalization of the area, a common strategy among wealthy residents of Seoul who aim to enhance their property values.

The Hannam-Dong Neighborhood

Often dubbed the “Beverly Hills of Seoul, ”Hannam-Dong is not only a prime residential area but also a haven for numerous K-pop idols and entertainment figures, including members of BIGBANG and other prominent celebrities.

Recent Developments in Suga’s Life

Just days following his discharge, Suga made headlines once again by donating over $3 million to Severance Hospital in Seoul. This contribution was aimed at establishing the Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center, a facility dedicated to supporting children and adolescents affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. This donation was notably the largest ever made by a Korean celebrity to the hospital.
