The ongoing saga surrounding ASRock motherboards continues to escalate, with alarming reports highlighting a surge in dead Ryzen CPUs. ASRock has been singled out as a prominent culprit in these CPU failures.
Rising Incidents of Dead Ryzen 9000 CPUs on ASRock Motherboards
Recent data indicates a rapid increase in the number of Ryzen CPU failures linked to ASRock motherboards. Reports recently revealed dead CPUs across various models, including both the 6-core non-X3D and the 16-core X3D variants. Just yesterday, it was uncovered that four Ryzen 5 9600X processors had succumbed within a month. Today’s findings suggest that the scope of the issue is even broader, comprising multiple Ryzen 9000 WeUs, all with failures attributed to ASRock motherboards.

One of the latest reports comes from u/RobotRollCall24, who expressed frustration after his Ryzen 5 9600X was rendered inoperable while utilizing the ASRock B850 Pro-A motherboard. Despite upgrading the BIOS to the most recent version (4.03), his system still fails to boot.


In addition, two separate issues concerning Ryzen 7 9700X CPUs have been reported. User u/jesseleh detailed his struggle after his CPU failed with the ASRock B850M-X motherboard, despite three days of troubleshooting efforts. The situation was similar for u/swissWerwolf, whose Ryzen 9700X also failed on the X870 Pro RS motherboard, which has gained infamy for being linked to numerous CPU failures.

The fourth reported incident involves the Ryzen 7 9800X3D user, u/Evening_Calender_331, whose processor failed while it was supported by the ASRock X870E Taichi motherboard. Remarkably, this failure occurred while using the latest BIOS version (4.03), prompting discussions around whether reverting to a prior version, such as 3.50, might improve stability.

Lastly, u/tminx49 reported that his AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D on the ASRock X870E Nova WiFi motherboard has also met an unfortunate end, with his motherboard displaying a “00”error code, indicating a CPU failure. A user since May 2025, he has since filed for an RMA.
