When exposed to cold for approximately one minute and thirty-five seconds (1m 35s), players will begin to notice frostbite symptoms, such as accumulating snow on their raider and physical shivering, followed by steady health loss (one HP per second).

To remedy frostbite, players have two primary methods:

Utilize health items such as bandages, Vita Spray, or Vita Shots to replenish health temporarily. However, this is a stopgap solution, as damage from frostbite will continue while outside in the cold.
The recommended method is to seek shelter in any building or covered structure. A clear indication that your raider is safe is the audible sigh of relief they emit upon entering warmth. Should you venture back into the cold, expect your raider to gasp, signaling the return of frostbite effects.
