Apple’s Affordable MacBook Launching with 8GB RAM Amid Memory Shortage, Priced Between $699 and $799

Apple’s forthcoming low-cost MacBook is generating considerable excitement among tech enthusiasts and consumers alike. In an effort to keep the retail price affordable amidst the ongoing memory shortage, the laptop is set to feature reduced RAM.

Pricing Insights: Apple’s Low-Cost MacBook to Retail Between $699 and $799

As reported by Taiwan’s Mirror Daily, the anticipated low-cost MacBook will be powered by the A18 Pro chip, which is also utilized in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, demonstrating performance capabilities that compete with the existing M1 chip.

In a strategic move to manage costs, the new MacBook is expected to be equipped with only 8GB of RAM, a significant reduction from the previously rumored 12GB. Historically, until 2024, 8GB has been the standard RAM configuration for numerous MacBook models.

Additionally, the device is expected to feature a 12.9-inch display, slightly smaller than the previously speculated 13.6-inch LCD panel. To enhance its appeal, Apple will likely offer the new MacBook in vibrant colors such as yellow and goose pink, distinguishing it from more traditional designs.

Importantly, the report indicates that Apple has ensured an adequate supply of memory for the production of its low-cost MacBook. The tech giant anticipates an impressive annual sales volume ranging from 5 million to 8 million units.

With pricing details confirmed, the low-cost MacBook is projected to be available between $699 and $799, notably lower than the current entry-level MacBook Air, which starts at $899.
