Apple Prepares Retail Stores for Anticipated Demand of Affordable MacBook, iPhone 17e, and Revamped MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPad Air

As we approach the first week of March, it promises to be one of the most product-heavy periods in Apple’s calendar. Enthusiasts can look forward to a series of announcements from Monday to Wednesday, culminating in the highly anticipated ‘Apple Experience’ event scheduled for March 4.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg highlights that Apple is preparing for a significant surge in retail activity triggered by these product unveilings. In anticipation, the company is making necessary adjustments to ensure its stores are equipped to handle the expected sales influx.

Preparing for a Sales Surge: Apple Readies New Products and Expectations

Next week, Apple is expected to showcase a variety of new products, according to Gurman:

“We’re likely to see some combination of these products: the iPhone 17e, MacBook Pros and Airs, updated entry-level iPad and iPad Air models, and the much-anticipated low-cost MacBook with an iPhone chip.”

While Gurman hasn’t mentioned Apple Studio Displays, indicators suggest that Apple may introduce at least two models, as suggested by identifiers found in the recent macOS 26.3 update. This could lead to announcements of these displays during the upcoming three-day event.

Among these new offerings, the highly-awaited low-cost MacBook is generating significant buzz. This model is expected to feature an innovative aluminum manufacturing process, the powerful A18 Pro chip, a 12.9-inch display, and advanced connectivity options, including a USB 3.2 Gen 2 controller. In terms of design, consumers may see a colorful palette that includes shades like light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray, with a starting price potentially reaching around $749.

The event may also unveil the iPhone 17e, expected to come equipped with a 6.1-inch LTPS OLED screen boasting a 60Hz refresh rate. Other features may include the Dynamic Island interface, the efficient A19 chip, magnetic wireless charging, and dual cameras—a 12MP front-facing sensor coupled with a robust 48MP rear camera—likely priced around $599.

Moreover, we can anticipate the launch of updated MacBook Pro models, specifically the M5 Pro and M5 Max variations, alongside refreshed entry-level iPads and iPad Airs, further enhancing Apple’s product lineup.

In light of the forthcoming excitement, especially regarding the mainstream appeal of the low-cost MacBook, Apple has alerted its retail staff to brace for extended hours similar to those during its major iPhone events in September. Additionally, Gurman notes that Apple plans to allocate dedicated display space for new products at its stores, particularly focusing on the forthcoming low-cost MacBook.
