In Hytale, players must gather Redwood, a unique wood type essential for upgrading the Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 5. However, the game offers little guidance on locating the specific tree species required to obtain it. To equip themselves with advanced farming tools, players need to identify the trees that yield Redwood Logs and their locations in the expansive game world.
Obtaining Redwood Logs in Hytale

There are three distinct tree types from which players can harvest Redwood Logs in Hytale:
- Maple Trees
- Redwood Trees
- Blue Fig Trees
Where to Find Maple Trees

Maple trees thrive in the Fens biome of the Emerald Grove (Zone 1). Their vibrant red foliage and distinctive rust-colored bark make them easily identifiable amid the lush green surroundings. Given their location within the initial zone of the game, Maple Logs are generally the most accessible type of Redwood for players to collect.
Where to Locate Redwood Trees

Redwood trees are predominantly found in the Frostmarch Tundra biome of the Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3). These trees typically grow in dense clusters, creating expansive forests. To spot these Redwood trees, look for densely packed dark green canopies on the map.
Identifying Redwood trees requires attention to detail; they feature green leaves and reddish-brown bark. Often confused with Cedar trees, players can differentiate them by examining the leaves—Cedar trees bear blue leaves. Additionally, while both tree types’ bark colors can appear similar, Cedar trees have a browner bark compared to Redwoods.
Once players reach Tier 5 on the Farmer’s Workbench, they can craft Redwood Saplings, unlocking the ability to grow their own Redwood trees.
Finding Blue Fig Trees

Blue Fig trees grow in the underground jungle layer of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). To access these biomes, players typically need to descend through lava holes that lead deep underground.
This jungle layer contains two notable biome types: one with bright pink trees and another populated by large Banyan trees. Look for Blue Fig trees among the Banyan species, marked by their blue leaves and red bark. However, these trees are relatively rare, meaning players may encounter only one or two per zone.
Players should also note that the jungle biome is home to various dinosaurs within Hytale, adding another layer of adventure to tree harvesting.
