CM Punk opens up about meeting with Vince McMahon following return
CM Punk shared that upon his return to WWE last year, he had a discussion with Vince McMahon. Despite being let go by All Elite Wrestling in September of 2023, the veteran made a comeback at Survivor Series in November.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani today, CM Punk revealed that he had a discussion with Vince McMahon upon his return to the promotion. McMahon had previously stepped down from his position in January, just before the Royal Rumble. Punk mentioned that he was given a tour of the new towers and shared a hug with McMahon, but has not seen him since. He made a lighthearted remark about some unexpected events that occurred, alluding to the ongoing lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon by former WWE employee Janel Grant.
“He came up to me, said ‘welcome home’ and gave me a hug, said ‘we’d have to catch up’, haven’t seen him since,”he said. [H/T: Gerweck.net]
Braun Strowman shares his thoughts on CM Punk’s WWE comeback
Braun Strowman has shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s comeback to the company.
Despite being sidelined with an injury, Strowman underwent a successful neck fusion surgery last year. While acknowledging Punk’s ability to attract new viewers to the product, the former Universal Champion stated that he will reserve judgement on the veteran until they meet in person.
“He’s doing his job, at the end of the day, our job is to put eyes on the product and bu**s in seats, and, well, it looks like he’s doing it. I’ve heard mixed reviews from multiple people on what kind of person he is. I’ll find out when I meet him, and he can get in line and get these hands just like anybody else,”said Strowman [3:53 – 4:06]
