Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Character Trailers Now Available
Sandfall Interactive has been unveiling a series of character trailers for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leading up to its release on April 24, 2025. All five character spotlight videos are now accessible on YouTube, with the journey beginning with a focus on Gustave.
Overview of Trailers
The character trailers introduced so far feature Gustave, Maelle, Lune, Sciel, and finally, Monoco. These characters are part of an expedition dispatched by the city of Lumiere, tasked with confronting the Paintress. The mission aims to halt her nefarious plans that threaten to erase anyone aged 33 and older from existence within a year. Monoco stands apart from the rest, as he is a Gestral, a non-human character who allies with the expedition despite his otherworldly nature, drawn by his affection for transient humans.
Detailed Character Spotlights
Gustave
The initial trailer for Gustave arrived in March 2025, offering insight into his ties with the Paintress and his relationship with Maelle.
Maelle
Shortly after Gustave’s introduction, the trailer for Maelle was released. As the youngest member of the group, she technically has time before becoming a target of the Paintress. Yet, her decision to join the fight showcases her determination and warrior spirit.
Moon
The character spotlight on Lune debuted towards the end of March 2025. With a legacy tied to a previous failed expedition led by her parents, Lune’s character is portrayed as a formidable mage.
Sciel
In early April 2025, the spotlight turned to Sciel, enriching our understanding of the character’s background as a farmer and his unique personality traits.
Monoco
Lastly, the trailer for Monoco showcased his perspective as a Gestral. He expressed his fondness for humanity, revealing his history of collaboration with several expeditions prior to Expedition 33.
