In the enchanting world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players encounter a myriad of intriguing mysteries, particularly involving the gentle Nevrons who seek assistance in various forms. While some Nevrons yearn for illumination, others simply crave someone to share their stories. Among these captivating narratives, the quest tied to a Nevron named Benisseur is a standout. Let’s explore how to successfully complete this quest and reap impressive rewards.
Locating the Benisseur Nevron Quest

There are approximately a dozen distinct Nevron quests available in the game, each contributing to the coveted Aiding the Enemy trophy/achievement. The quest associated with Benisseur can be discovered relatively early in the main storyline.
Referred to as The Fountain in the Red Woods, this quest requires you to venture into an area known as the Red Woods. After exiting the Flying Waters zone located in the southern part of the Continent, head west past The Small Bourgeon zone, where you’ll also find additional Nevron quests.
Feel free to explore the Red Woods regardless of your level, as it is free from enemies. However, bear in mind that completing the quest objectives may still require a bit more effort.
Steps to Complete the Benisseur Nevron Quest

Upon entering the Red Woods, head straight until you encounter a large bowl-like structure featuring a bubbling liquid. Interact with the bowl to trigger a dialogue prompt indicating that you’ve found “an odd-looking fountain.”

The next prompt informs you that “Chroma swirls inside, ”and you will be given the option to donate about 5, 000 x Chroma. If you have this resource, contribute it, and in response, the fountain will emit a mysterious riddle, piquing the interest of your party members. You can repeat this process multiple times.

Interact with the fountain again, and it will prompt you to pour in 10, 000 x Chroma. If you are able, make the donation. The fountain will then provide another riddle, this time centered around themes of “grief”and those who harbor it.

When you are ready, return to the fountain once more, and you’ll encounter yet another request to contribute 25, 000 x Chroma. Depending on your story progression and experience accumulation, this may be quite a challenge to meet initially.
Rest assured, you can always return later once you have accrued sufficient Chroma, allowing you to progress through the quest without any hindrances.

When you finally present the required Chroma, the fountain will reveal one last riddle linked to “paintings”and “families.”Interact with it again for a final request of 50, 000 x Chroma. Upon successful contribution, the Benisseur will awaken, emerging from the ground to express gratitude for your attentiveness to its unusual stories.

Your reward will be the coveted Recovery Pictos (Level 20 during your first playthrough; Level 33 in New Game Plus), which offers a notable 10% health recovery at the beginning of each turn, alongside significant stat bonuses—definitely a worthy prize for your efforts!
Is Fighting the Benisseur in Red Woods Advisable?

Like other Nevrons found in the side quests, after you fulfill the Benisseur’s requests, you’ll have the option to ‘Attack’ it if that is your choice. However, for players aiming to maximize their rewards and secure the Aiding the Enemy trophy/achievement, it is strongly advised to spare the Benisseur rather than engage in combat.
If you opt for battle, upon defeating the Benisseur, your reward will include 3 x Colour of Lumina and 1 x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst.

Choosing mercy, on the other hand, will also contribute to a different side quest offered by another Nevron named Blanche, who can be found in The Fountain area near Spring Meadow. To access this area, you’ll need to unlock Esquie’s flying ability, which necessitates significant progress within the main narrative.
If you’ve spared the Nevrons throughout their quests, Blanche will reward you with 100 x Colour of Lumina. Conversely, if you have defeated any Nevrons in your journey, Blanche will turn hostile, and defeating her will yield 10 x Colour of Lumina and 2 x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst.
Choose wisely and may your adventures be fruitful!
