Clair Obscur Expedition 33: Complete Guide to Nevron Quest Locations and Solutions

The enchanting and enigmatic universe of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is populated by a diverse array of peculiar creatures, including the Nevrons. These animated beings often appear as foes, but not all are adversaries; some become valuable allies throughout your journey.

In various key areas of the game, you’ll encounter white-painted Nevrons, frequently appearing in states of disrepair. Assisting them often yields unique rewards, ranging from powerful weapons and stylish outfits to collectible pictos.

It’s important to note that certain Nevrons may not be immediately visible, requiring players to explore beyond the standard pathways. Embarking on these side quests can be immensely rewarding, adding a thrilling layer to your gaming experience.

Each interaction with a friendly Nevron offers a moral choice: you can either spare or eliminate them. The rewards vary based on your decision, and sparing all Nevrons leads to a significant payoff from the final Nevron, Blanche, who rewards players with 100x pictos. Therefore, think carefully before deciding to combat any Nevrons.

Jar (Spring Meadows)

The first white Nevron you will encounter is Jar, located near the Indigo Tree in Spring Meadows. This encounter occurs early in the main storyline.

To assist Jar, you must retrieve a source of “Light”by traversing a blue-lit corridor where you’ll face an Abbest and two Lanceliers. Upon defeating these enemies, navigate to an overgrown area filled with blue roots to find the purple item concealed among nearby barrels.

Delivering this item will grant you a reward. However, remember that you can still choose to attack Jar, which provides an additional reward of 3x pictos and 1x weapon.

Demineur (Flying Waters)

In the Flying Waters region, close to the ship from Expedition 68, you will find the Demineur standing still, surrounded by sea mines.

This Nevron requests your help to retrieve a bomb. To accomplish this, descend the nearby rock formations and leap across to a small clearing on the opposite side of the ravine.

Once there, look for a mine indicated in purple to the south. If you happen to fall while jumping, simply retrace your steps back to the Demineur and restart from the beginning.

After you bring the mine back, you can choose to either spare or attack the Demineur.

Small Bud (Ancient Sanctuary)

From the portal at the Ancient Sanctuary, travel west to reach an area known as Small Bourgeon. Here, you will meet a diminutive Bourgeon who needs your help to retrieve a skin from a regular Bourgeon in order to reunite with his mistress.

Defeating Bourgeons can be done easily in the eastern parts of the Continent, particularly in regions like Flying Waters.

Once you have obtained the skin, return to the Small Bourgeon, who will ask for your assistance again after he has grown. To gain your reward, either rest at a camp or progress further in the main storyline before returning.

Hexga (Stone Wave Cliffs)

The formidable Hexga, a rock creature adorned with crystals, can be found collapsed near the cave entrance in the Stone Wave Cliffs. Despite their intimidating design, Hexgas are relatively easy to defeat.

This friendly Hexga will request 3 Glowing Rock Crystals, all obtainable from the adjacent cave. The first two crystals are fairly straightforward to acquire, although they will be guarded by patrolling enemy Hexgas.

The last crystal requires navigating left and jumping over some rocks, making it simpler with certain characters like Maelle or Lune.

Upon retrieving all three crystals, return to the friendly Hexga for a unique pictos reward that grants a Shell combat bonus at the beginning of battles.

Pictos Equipment

Bennisseur (Red Woods)

The Bennisseur, a fountain-shaped creature known for its spitting attacks, resides in Sirene or the Red Woods. In a unique twist, this Nevron requests a series of monetary donations beginning at 5, 000 Chroma.

The requests continue to rise to 10, 000, 25, 000, and finally 50, 000 Chroma. While this total seems steep, you have the option to return at any point during your playthrough to make these deposits.

In return for your generosity, you will receive the powerful Recovery pictos, which automatically heals 10% of your health at the start of each turn.

Troubador (Stone Quarry)

The Troubador, identifiable by its large trumpet, can be located in the Stone Quarry near the Forgotten Battlefield. This Nevron has a quirky requests related to its deadly instrument that previously harmed its fellow Nevrons.

In a rather entertaining side quest, you will engage in a rhythm-based challenge where you must dodge or parry incoming attacks, avoiding red orbs while allowing green orbs to hit you. A single mistake will reset the entire sequence!

Successfully completing three rounds of this challenge earns you the coveted Pictos, ideal for players with a knack for defense.

Doorman (Old Lumiere)

To find the Portier, make your way west of Old Lumiere to a small portal that leads to the Esoteric Ruins. Once inside, head north and encounter a luminous orb that will prompt you to describe a spirit.

Your choice of dialogue won’t affect the quest, so engage with the spirit to initiate the next steps. This spirit will challenge you to navigate a maze in the Esoteric Ruins to retrieve an item while managing various orbs and gates.

  1. Shoot the central orb near the entrance to open gates.
  2. Enter the left room and shoot the first orb to close the gates.
  3. Shoot the second orb to access the Western gate.
  4. Proceed through the next room and navigate right across the maze.
  5. In the last room, return to shoot the central orb again.
  6. Exit the maze by going left, then right.

Once you’ve retrieved the spirit’s requested wooden boards, make your way back through the ruins using grappling points. Return to the spirit with the items to complete the quest, transforming it into a Portier.

Danseuse Teacher (Frozen Hearts)

Near Monoco’s Station in the Frozen Hearts area, you will locate the Danseuse Teacher who poses a unique challenge in the form of a ‘Parry Dance’.

Upon accepting, you’ll enter combat mode and face a relentless 15-strike attack. It’s not mandatory to parry each strike, but having mastered the parrying technique will significantly help you mitigate damage during this challenge.

Should you fail, you can always repeat the challenge to learn the attack rhythm better. Completing this quest rewards you with the exceptional Danseuse Outfit for Lune, widely regarded as one of the best outfits in the game.

Chalier (Floating Cemetery)

To access the Floating Cemetery, unlock Esquie’s flying ability first, then navigate to the floating island southwest of Gestral Beach. Here, the Chalier will present you with a choice of weapon that it will wield against you.

Choose a weapon you feel comfortable with—picking the hammer for its slower speed often proves beneficial. After defeating the Chalier, you can still converse with it. Bear in mind, Chaliers are vulnerable to Light damage but resistant to Dark attacks, so plan your strategy accordingly.

Upon defeating the Chalier, you will receive a reward; however, it will request to be killed due to embarrassment over losing. Remember, sparing all Nevrons is crucial as it leads to a much larger reward in the end.

Pictos Equipment

Blanche (The Fountain)

The final white Nevron, Blanche, is found at The Fountain, located to the west of Spring Meadows. Notably, there’s no challenge associated with this encounter.

By turning in all of your previous side quests—provided you’ve spared each white Nevron and fulfilled their requests—you will receive 100x pictos. Alternatively, you may choose to attack Blanche for a lesser reward.

Chiaroscuro Tint

Upon completing these quests, you will have successfully unlocked the full potential of the Nevron narrative arc in the game.
