Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is offering all players the opportunity to claim three free special card packs, each guaranteed to include at least one rare card. This limited-time promotion is currently live, with packs available for collection until April 30, 2025.

This mobile adaptation of the beloved trading card game, developed by The Pokemon Company, made its debut at the end of October 2024. At launch, players were able to build decks utilizing cards from the Genetic Apex set, their inaugural card selection, with themed packs featuring iconic Pokemon such as Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo.

Celebrating Pokemon Day 2025 with Special Booster Packs

In a celebratory announcement for Pokemon Day 2025, commemorating the 29th anniversary of the original release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, players received notifications in-game about special booster packs. Each pack corresponds to one of the original themes available at launch. According to the news tab in the game, every pack includes at least one card of diamond rarity or higher. This rarer class of cards has notably low appearance odds—approximately 1.666 percent as the fourth card and 6.664 percent as the fifth card in a standard pack. Players can access these special packs from the gifts section located at the upper-right corner of their interface.

The distribution of these special packs aligns perfectly with the forthcoming Triumphant Light expansion, slated for release on February 28. This new set was unveiled during the Pokemon Presents 2025 showcase, and it’s set to become the fourth major card set released for the game, following the Mythical Island mini-set in December and the Space-Time Smackdown series released recently. Notably, Triumphant Light will focus on a powerful Arceus ex card and will include new cards across various energy types that exhibit enhanced abilities triggered by the presence of Arceus ex on the battlefield.

As is typical with new expansions, special missions will be activated on February 28 at 1:00 AM local time and will run until March 27. Completing these missions will yield rewards, although the specifics have yet to be revealed by the development team. However, players may anticipate a pattern similar to previous events; for instance, missions in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion revolved around collecting distinctive card types through pack pulls, trades, and Wonder Picks, leading to rewards such as Wonder Hourglasses, Shop Tickets, and Emblem Tickets.
