Citizen Sleeper 2 begins with an urgent mission to break free from Hexport. However, the primary challenge lies not just in escaping, but in fixing your damaged ship, the Rig, which requires a rare component to get back into space.
If you need a structured approach to completing the initial chapter of Citizen Sleeper 2, this guide is designed for you. It details the steps required to successfully navigate the Major Drive, Escape Hexport, helping you progress in the game.

Mission Narrative: As Laine hunts you down, Hexport lies perilously close to Darkside. It’s imperative to refuel, repair, and gather what you need to escape the clutches of danger.
The Escape Hexport Drive also acts as the tutorial phase of Citizen Sleeper 2, guiding you through essential mechanics like Cycles, Supplies, Contracts, and Dice Rolls. Below is a detailed walkthrough of this introductory segment.
Step-by-Step Guide to Escaping Hexport

Your goal is to repair the Rig using a Feed Line. This critical item can be obtained through three main methods: purchasing it with Cryo, trading a valuable asset, or stealing it. Once secured, you’ll be in a position to leave Hexport before Laine can intercept you.
Step 1: Consult with Karsten
In the second Cycle, once you activate the Escape Hexport Drive, make your way to meet Karsten. He can be found in the Factory Row area, which becomes accessible after completing the Trusted Suppliers task—this typically requires rolling favorable dice to gain the workers’ trust.
Once you’ve built their confidence, Karsten will provide you two options: either acquire the Feed Line for 400 Cryo or perform a service in exchange for the part. Given that many players start with limited Cryo, it’s advisable to opt for the latter option, which involves heading to the wrecked ship, Solheim HS22.
Step 2: Navigate to Solheim HS22
To travel to Solheim HS22, your Rig will require fuel, which you can purchase at the Hexport Trade Hall. If funds are tight, consider earning some Cryo through activities like Data Defusal or Scrapyard Shift.
Additionally, stock up on supplies, as the mission may demand several Cycles. Acquiring food from the Hexport Trade Hall will help mitigate the stress of prolonged gameplay.
Step 3: Obtain the Ship Core
Upon arrival at Solheim HS22, head straight for the Corroded Airlock path (Bridge Entry) to procure the core that Karsten requires. You can later explore the other route, Depressurized Bay, for further loot and resources.
Step 4: Escape Hexport
Once you have secured the ship core, return to Karsten to exchange it for the Feed Line. This crucial component will enable you to exit Hexport swiftly and avoid Laine.
Beginners may benefit from thoroughly exploring Hexport post-mission to accumulate additional Cryo before advancing to subsequent chapters.
Alternative Scenarios in the Escape Hexport Mission
Obtaining the ship core at Solheim HS22 is not guaranteed. If your dice rolls don’t favor you, you may encounter multiple setbacks and have to leave without success. In such scenarios, the character Juni may step in to assist you in stealing the Feed Line from Karsten.
There’s also the risk of running out of Cycles and being caught by Laine. Fortunately, this outcome doesn’t equate to a game over; you’ll still manage to escape with your compromised ship and continue your journey on Far Spindle.
