Cities: Skylines II Welcomes the Bridges & Ports Expansion
Paradox Interactive has officially announced the release date for the long-awaited Bridges & Ports expansion, a premium add-on for the popular city-building title Cities: Skylines II developed by Colossal Order. This expansion aims to transform urban shorelines by integrating various new features, including bridges, customizable harbors, ferries, and a range of industries.
New Bridges: A Game Changer for City Planning
Enhancing the game’s infrastructure options, the expansion introduces 20 new drawbridges and lift bridges. Players will have a variety of styles and sizes to choose from, allowing them to design bridges that can accommodate vehicles, pedestrians, or rail traffic, thereby streamlining their city’s transport network.
Customizable Ports: Scaling Up Harbor Operations
A highlight of the Bridges & Ports expansion is the inclusion of customizable port areas. With three different harbor sizes, players can effectively scale their operations to manage incoming and outgoing traffic. Expanding and upgrading these ports impacts not just aesthetics but also key logistical factors such as efficiency, safety, and security.
Innovative Transportation with Ferries
The expansion also adds a new transportation option: ferries. This feature will enable citizens to travel seamlessly between islands. As Paradox notes, “With smoother seaways, ferries become a natural choice to connect neighborhoods and get commuters where they’re going.”This addition promises to enhance connectivity within your cities.
New Industries to Explore
Players can also look forward to a variety of new industries being introduced in the expansion. These include inland and offshore fish farms, newly designed warehouses, and offshore oil fields that necessitate their own piers, pipelines, and storage tanks. Additional Features and Launch Details
In addition to the core offerings, the Bridges & Ports expansion features over 100 new assets, fresh achievements for players to unlock, and maps that include a peninsula, a bay, and lakes. This enriching content package is set to launch on October 29 for PC users through Steam and the Microsoft Store, retailing at $19.99. Notably, holders of the Ultimate Edition or the Waterfronts Expansion Pass will receive it at no additional cost.
New DLC: Cold Wave Channel Radio Station
Accompanying the expansion, Paradox announced the Cold Wave Channel, a new in-game radio station offering a unique blend of ice-cold beats and mysterious vibes. This minor DLC is available for $4.99 separately or can be bundled with the expansion for $22.49 on release day.
